And now it has been revealed that Will Smith planned every move of his raunchy performance with India Martinez when they performed their song First Love at the Premio Lo Nuestro award show in Miami. 

The singer, 56, whose separation from his wife Jada Pinkett was revealed in 2023, was filmed putting on a flirty display with India, 39, as they embraced and even appeared to share a kiss, while Will placed a hand on India’s backside.

The display left fans stunned as they took to social media calling out the rapper for ‘inappropriate’ and the ‘worst’ behaviour. 

However footage of the pair in rehearsals has now revealed the choreography was planned as the duo are seen getting up close and personal.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, India shared an array of snaps with Will as well as the rehearsal video as she gushed over Will’s generosity and kindness.

‘Especially for giving me the gift of meeting the great pᴀssionate, inspiring, joyful person that you are, with a giant heart. I love you ❤️ Congratulations!!’

Will and India sparked backlash at the time of their performance with fans exclaiming: ‘This is the worst’ while a second typed: ‘Inappropriate, even if it is ‘entertainment.” 

Others wrote: ‘It’s like someone’s dad’s on the karaoke with a drunk local woman.’ 

‘It’s how Will forgot where he was and went to put his arms around her’; ‘Will plays too much.’

However others defended the star and said he deserved ‘unlimited hall pᴀsses’ after Jada admitted to an affair with family friend August Alsina in 2020. 

Will and Jada tied the knot in 1997, however Jada disclosed in 2023 that they had been separated for seven years, beginning in 2016, but remained married. 

Details of their bizarre marital arrangement have revealed the pair are continuing to live in separate homes, though insiders insist the pair are still together.

The I Am Legend actor and the Matrix star, 53, are ‘are living their own lives but haven’t completely severed ties,’ a source told People last month.

‘Call it what you want,’ the source added. Meanwhile, another inside said the pair, who got married in 1997, are ‘still together’ but ‘have had separate homes for years.’

In 2023 it was reported that Jada has her own house nearby to Will in Calabasas. 

Meanwhile in the same year, while promoting her memoir Worthy, Jada revealed that the marriage had left them ‘exhausted.’

‘I think by the time we got to 2016 we were just exhausted with trying,’ Pinkett Smith said on the broadcast.

‘I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,’ she explained.

In Pinkett Smith’s book she describes the separation as a ‘divorce,’ but clarified they never filed any paperwork.

‘It was not a divorce on paper. But it was a divorce,’ Pinkett Smith said.

However, in her memoir she wrote that she decided to stay by her husband’s side the moment he slapped Chris Rock while defending her at the 2022 Oscars.

It comes after Will explained the real meaning behind the single First Love as he reminisced on the ‘freedom’ and ‘recklessness’ at the beginning of a relationship. 

The Oscar winner appeared to take a jibe at wife Jada as he alluded to love being lost over time during a marriage. 

Taking to his Instagram on Valentine’s Day, Will penned: ‘Valentines day got me thinkin… who was your first love?’

The pair got steamy during their song as they embraced and even appeared to share a kiss, while Smith placed a hand on Martinez’s backside

In further candid snaps taken backstage, Martinez was seen jumping into Smith’s arms and wrapping her legs around his waist

Launching into a speech he began: ‘So first love theory. You know when you remember that first time you loved somebody and that kind of freedom and the reckless abandon and the wide openness before life happens.’

Suggesting relationships often lose their spark after this initial period of falling in love he asked: ‘How can we make our way back to that open space because with a closed heart there is no way to create that love that we desire.’

Quoting American spiritual leader and guru Ram Dᴀss he added: ‘There is a Ram Dᴀss quote “learning how to have an open heart in hell.” 

‘There’s a line that I love that is “Every heart will be broken, but what do we do with the pieces.”‘
