Natalie Cᴀssidy has revealed the surprising reason why she still hasn’t married her fiancé Marc Humphreys despite being engaged for nearly a decade.

The EastEnders actress, 41, and the BBC cameraman began dating in 2014 before getting engaged a year later and welcoming daughter Joanie in 2016. 

She is also mother to Eliza, 14, from a previous relationship.

But after being engaged for over a decade, the lovebirds still haven’t planned their big day as Natalie revealed why in an interview with the Mirror. 

She said: ‘That would be nice wouldn’t it? It’s a bit of a nightmare. We’re always busy and we always say yes to things, but it’d be nice to think about it.’

Natalie then confessed that despite her wanting to eventually get married, she will always prioritise work over planning the special occasion.

‘If you’re getting good opportunities you can’t turn them down, but I feel like you can just balance the diary a little bit more because EastEnders is such a huge machine you have to plan around’, she added.   

The couple met as Marc works a cameraman on EastEnders.

While it’s his job to stay behind the scenes, viewers were given a glimpse at Marc during soap special, Secrets From The Square.

In 2020, when the show was forced off air for the first time in its 35 year history due to the pandemic.  

It was replaced with a spin off show that looked back at classic episodes.

During one episode, viewers were left shocked as Marc made a surprise cameo.

Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale on the show, made the reference as host Stacey Dooley joked that the cast and crew were standing too close for social distancing protocols.

Adam quipped: ‘He’s with Nat,’ going on to joke that’s the only reason they were friends.

But after being engages for over a decade, the lovebirds still haven’t planned their big day as Natalie revealed the shocking reason why they have not tied the knot

He added: ‘We don’t actually mean it. We can’t stand Marc. 

‘But we have to be nice to him because he’s with Nat.’

Visibly shocked, Stacey exclaimed: ‘Oh, are you? You’re Sonia’s husband? Oh, that’s amazing.’

While Marc was kept busy filming the docuseries, Natalie stayed at home, not appearing in any of the 14 episodes.
