Jennifer Lopez has a strictly platonic friendship with her hunky co-star Tonatiuh, despite romance rumors surrounding the pair.

Tonatiuh, 30, and Jennifer, 55, acted together in the upcoming movie Kiss Of The Spider Woman, an adaptation of a hit Broadway musical that was itself based on a novel by the Argentine author Manuel Puig.

Speculation had been swirling about the true nature of the bond between Jennifer and Tonatiuh, following her divorce from Ben Affleck.

J-Lo sent the conjecture into overdrive by posting a pH๏τo of herself with Tonatiuh to social media this week, accompanied by a heart emoji.

Now, however, an insider has confirmed they are not dating, insisting: ‘There’s nothing going on here. They’re just friends,’ via Us Weekly.

Another source shed further light on her state of mind, saying: ‘She’s focused on work and is not dating. She’s happy as it is,’ per People.

Earlier this year in January, Lopez and Affleck’s divorce was settled but they weren’t declared legally single until last month on February 21 when the marriage was legally dissolved. 

The picture uploaded to social media was taken from when they attended the premiere of their musical drama film two months earlier in January at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The two stars could be seen strolling arm-in-arm at the glitzy event while sending friendly smiles in each other’s direction. 

Jennifer had worn a sheer, black lace dress with silver web details while Tonatiuh was dapper in a stylish black suit. 

The pair recently took on roles in the upcoming musical drama тιтled Kiss Of The Spider Woman – which was written and directed by Bill Condon. 

Along with Lopez and Tonatiuh – whose full name is Tonatiuh Elizarraraz – other cast members for the project included Diego Luna and Tony Dovolani. 

The premise is: ‘Valentín (Luna), a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), convicted for public indecency. An unlikely bond forms as Molina recounts a Hollywood musical plot starring Ingrid Luna (Lopez),’ per IMDB.  

While the movie first premiered earlier, an official release date for the film has yet to be announced.

The source added, ‘Her life is a lot, she needs a man who can handle all that and still love her unconditionally like the way Rip love Beth Dutton.’ 

In regards to her plans for the year, Lopez ‘wants this summer to be amazing after a tough start to the year.’ 

The beauty is set to begin filming her new Netflix project called Office Romance alongside Ted Lᴀsso star Brett Goldstein – who has shared in the past that he has a ‘crush’ on the performer. 

A separate insider told DailyMail.com, ‘After a very tough start to 2025, Jennifer can’t wait to start a new project and it certainly helps that she will be working with a very handsome and smart star like Brett. 

‘He is one H๏τ ticket and a real class act with talent to back it up – he not only acts but he writes amazing scripts. He is like the younger, better, British version of Ben. She thinks he is very cute.’

He tied the knot with Jennifer in 2022 but she notably filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary in August 2024.

In regards to the cause of the former couple’s shock split, the Oscar winner expressed to the outlet that there was ‘no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue.’  

The Good Will Hunting actor further stated that ‘the reason I don’t want to share that is just sort of embarrᴀssing. It feels vulnerable.’
