Selena Gomez gave her fans a rare glimpse behind the scenes of her high-profile friendship with Taylor Swift in a new interview on Thursday.

While chatting with iHeartRadio, the 32-year-old Only Murders In The Building star revealed that she once brought the 35-year-old pop superstar to tears when she played her chart-topping song Lose You To Love Me to her before the public heard it.

Selena — who is promoting her new album I Said I Love You First — admitted that she regularly gives her new music a test drive with Taylor, who gives her much-needed feedback.

The sweet reveal comes after DailyMail.com reported of a strain in the longtime friends’ relationship.

In September, an insider shared that Selena lately feels like an ‘outsider’ among Taylor’s all-star squad of friends.

To make matters worse, insiders have claimed that Selena doesn’t get along with Taylor’s good friend Blake Lively, which limits how often she sees the Eras Tour hitmaker.

According to Selena, Taylor often helps her by singling out her best news songs.

‘She definitely will say, “That one’s okay. I think that one’s good.” It’s just very helpful,’ Gomez said in a clip from the interview posted to social media.

She added that she appreciates Taylor’s opinion in particular because she’s ‘super honest.’

‘I like to see what she thinks,’ Selena said. 

But some of her songs were more than just ‘good’ to the Shake It Off singer.

‘Then there are other knockouts, like when I played her Lose You To Love Me before it came out and she and her amazing mom started to cry, and then I started crying,’ Selena revealed, adding, ‘It’s very sweet.’

The Spring Breakers star also noted that Taylor trusts her enough to also preview new songs.

‘She’s done the same. I would never be like, “That’s a terrible song,” because she’s so freaking good!’ Selena gushed.

Although the former Disney Channel star painted a picture of a solid relationship with her, the anecdote about playing Lose You To Love Me would have taken place sometime before the single’s release in October of 2019.

But an insider told DailyMail.com in September of last year that Selena spends far less time with the Folklore singer than she used to because she feels like an ‘outsider’ among Taylor’s current friend group.

At the time, it had been months since the two were pictured together, and the insider claimed Selena felt as if she had ‘matured out of Taylor’s circle of friends.’

‘She has no desire to be out with Blake, or Ice Spice, or Brittany or really any of those girls,’ they added. 

But it wasn’t just conflict with other women in Taylor’s circle, as both have been consumed by their recent romances, Taylor’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and Selena’s engagement to music producer Benny Blanco.

In April of last year, insiders told DailyMail.com that Selena and Taylor’s other good friend Blake Lively don’t ‘mix,’ and the 1989 singer knows to not invite them to the same events. 

‘Blake enjoys the perks of being a celebrity. She loves to have fun,’ a second insider claimed.

‘If there is something fun going down, she wants to be a part of it and it is contagious. This is something that everyone, including Taylor, loves about Blake,’ they said. ‘She knows that, no matter what, she is going to have a good time and lots of laughs when she is out with Blake.’

However, the two were wrapped up in controversy after they were spotted allegedly gossiping about Kylie Jenner, the girlfriend of Selena’s former Rainy Day In New York costar Timothée Chalamet.

A professional lip reader later claimed to DailyMail.com that Selena was denied the opportunity to take a pH๏τo with Timothée, and that she allegedly feared upsetting Kylie by asking.
