Sam Thompson enjoyed some quality family time on Wednesday night, as he tagged along to his sister Louise’s birthday dinner in Chelsea.

The presenter, 32, cut a cheerful figure as he was spotted out with Louise, 35, her fiancé Ryan Libbey and their son Leo, after recently admitted he’d been feeling ‘lonely’ following his split from Zara McDermott.

He wrapped up warm in a comfy green hoodie and black coat, teamed with khaki trousers and trainers, while sporting tinted glᴀsses.

Louise pushed along her three-year-old son while Ryan carried a huge bouquet of flowers that Sam had gifted his older sister for her 35th birthday.

The trio could be seen chatting and laughing as they made their way home from the Japanese restaurant, Sam looking in good spirits despite a difficult few weeks.

He later took to his Instagram to share several pH๏τos from the meal, as he penned a gushing tribute to Louise and thanked her for ‘being there through his lowest moments’ in the wake of his break-up with Zara.

Sam’s heartfelt post comes after ex-girlfriend Zara moved on with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson and he got back onto the dating scene by joining Raya.

His profile on the celebrity dating app profile was recently revealed, showing one of snap of him posing with the cat he still shares with Zara.

A source told The Sun about Sam joining Raya: ‘Sam’s been left devastated by the end of his relationship, which was made even more difficult when he saw who Zara was dating.

‘Even though he might not be quite ready to jump back into something serious yet, Sam was encouraged by his friends to dip his toe in the water.’

The publication previously reported that Sam was back on Raya days before Zara’s shock new romance with Louis was revealed.

Despite claims he was ‘blindsided’ by Zara’s new romance, a fan last week claimed to have seen Sam on Raya the week before, noting ‘So he’s back on the dating scene as well.’

As well as keeping busy by looking for love, he is also said to have been partying with his pals in Chelsea and his close friend Pete Wicks.

A source told The Mirror: ‘Sam has been making jokes about his life since the break up, and that’s not really something you’d be doing if you were experiencing total heartbreak. 

‘Of course they were sad, but they sort of accepted it a long time ago. Sam has been going out and having fun again, he’s not dating anyone but he’s been on dates. 

‘He’s been around the Chelsea lot and hanging out with Pete [Wicks] a lot. He’s really enjoying himself at the moment but doesn’t want to be tied down.’

While Zara and Louis’ romance was exposed earlier this month when a fellow diner at The Suffolk in Aldburgh took snaps of the pair enjoying a romantic date.

‘News of their romance leaked sooner than they intended – the plan was to keep things private for as long as possible. They still hope to keep intimate details away from prying eyes.

‘Zara is enjoying being wined and dined and experiencing the thrill of dating someone new again. 

‘She had been with Sam for years and in the end their relationship became transactional… they had lost their sparkle. Louis has certainly put a smile back on her face.’ 

Zara and Louis tucked into £100 fish and chips, plus cocktails, at the £315-a-night H๏τel in Suffolk, before staying the night and leaving for their respective London homes in the morning.
