Handmaid’s Tale rivals Elisabeth Moss and Yvonne Strahovski cut stylish figures as they attended a screening event in LA on Wednesday night ahead of the final season.

The actresses who play June Osborne and Serena Joy Waterford on the Channel 4 show put their characters’ tensions to the side as they posed at the event as part of PaleyFest LA 2025 at the Dolby Theatre.

While the first three episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale’s sixth season will premiere in the US on Tuesday 6 April, a UK release date has yet to be confirmed.

The show is based on Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel of the same name and is set in the theocratic Republic of Gilead where fertile women, called Handmaids, are forced to bear children for the ruling class, while the rest of society is stripped of its freedoms and rights.

June (Moss), is the Handmaid ᴀssigned to the home of the Gileadan Commander Fred Waterford and his cruel wife Serena (Strahovski), key players in the formation and rise of Gilead.

The fifth season of the series introduced a twist where Serena, after being exiled, is forced to return to Gilead, further complicating her relationship with June.

At the screening event Elisabeth, 42, looked chic in a black suit and wore red heels to boost her height. 

She wore her blonde tresses in loose waves and opted for glowing makeup, while accessorising with a gold clutch bag. 

Yvonne meanwhile, 42, wore a wide leg white linen suit which was teamed with grey pointed heels. 

Hulu finally dropped the sixth (and final) season trailer for The Handmaid’s Tale last month – well over two years after the fifth season finale aired.

In it, Elisabeth’s resistance leader June has returned to Gilead to rejoin the ranks of the cloaked, child-bearing slaves serving the patriarchs leading the totalitarian society.

‘They believed that these garments that they put on our bodies told the world who we are. To mark us, they put us in red — the color of blood,’ June said in the voiceover.

‘They forgot that it’s also the color of rage. The dress became our uniform, and we became an army.’

The first three episodes of creator Bruce Miller’s critically-acclaimed dystopian drama, based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel, air April 8 on Hulu.

X user @Bedollz tweeted: ‘Finally! Been waiting ages for this season!’

When X user @TheShowMeGirl exclaimed ‘What? There’s one last season?’ the official @HandmaidsOnHulu account replied: ‘We’re not done yet.’

In the last season, June plans on taking down Gilead even if it means burning a body in an incinerator, while Luke (O-T Fagbenle) and Moira (Samira Wiley) join the resistance.

‘Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) tries to reform Gilead while Commander Lawrence (Bradley Whitford) and Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) reckon with what they have wrought, and Nick (Max Minghella) faces challenging tests of character,’ the official synopsis read.

‘This final chapter of June’s journey highlights the importance of hope, courage, solidarity, and resilience in the pursuit of justice and freedom.’

The Handmaid’s Tale also features Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Sam Jaeger, Ever Carradine, and Josh Charles.

The cast and crew only wrapped production on the Canadian set of season six on Monday.
