A tear-jerking secret moment from the actress who played Katie Leonard star in Adolescence has been revealed – but did you notice it?  

Young star Emilia Holliday took on the role of the murdered school girl Katie in the hit drama.

And although her stint on the show is quite short, it is an instrumental part. 

What many viewers don’t know is that Emilia secretly appeared at the end of episode two, when Jamie Millers’ (Owen Cooper) dad Eddie (Stephen Graham) was laying flowers down to pay his respects, after finding out that his son had murdered his classmate Katie.   

Netflix’s official X account shared a video of actor Stephen explaining the shocking revelation. 

Revealing the in a voice over talking above the actual scene, Stephen explained: ‘There’s a beautiful song at the end and Phil had this wonderful idea from the very beginning.

‘He said what he wanted to do was have a choir and voice of young kids singing this particular song that he had in his head from the get go, actually. 

‘But the beautiful process of it is, is that we used the choir from the actual school, and the kids from that area.’

He continued: ‘The girl singing this is the girl who played the girl that got killed.’

And many couldn’t believe what the star had revealed.  

One said: ‘Had no idea and already thought it was an amazing series. Just adds another layer to the amazing show. Love it.’ 

Another confessed: ‘My favourite scene from the series, that cover of sting – fragile was perfect!’ 

‘The fact they went into this much detail proves how artistic freedom isn’t ᴅᴇᴀᴅ,’ a third chimed in. 

A fourth added: ‘Thanks Netflix, that makes it all the more haunting. On a serious note though, that is unbelievable writing and very clever. The best TV show I’ve watched in years!’

Adolescence hit the streaming service on March 13. 

The show has been a huge fan hit.

Over the weekend it was revealed that the programme is the first streaming show ever to become the most-watched programme of the week.

Since its launch, the show has amᴀssed 66.3 million views, making it the most-watched limited series and most-watched UK тιтle ever through its first two weeks, with a huge 161,000,000 hours viewed. 

 Adolescence was written and created by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham. 

The show was directed by Phillip Barantini. 

There is a very impressive cast which includes Stephen, Ashley Walters, Erin Doherty, Owen Cooper, Faye Marsay, Christine Tremarco, Mark Stanley and Jo Hartley. 

Adolescence has a total of four episodes – and each of them were filmed in one take.
