FKA twigs has revealed she has been forced to cancel her North American tour dates after an error by a member of her production team means she has no visa to perform.
She revealed the tour had been ‘challenging’ on the production side, which led to the cancellation and postponement of shows in the United States.
The ‘heartbroken’ singer, 37, announced she’s been forced to back out of her shows in Chicago, Toronto and New York because the ‘correct paperwork’ wasn’t filed.
In a video posted on X, she explained: ‘Hi everyone, I wanted to come on here to talk to you and address some things that have been happening behind the scenes in my world.
‘So as you may have seen I have been performing the EuSєxua tour in the UK and Europe and that’s been incredible, the reception, the crowd and the artistic expression.
‘Everything has just been completely amazing and I feel so grateful to be apart of such an amazing process.

‘Behind the scenes practically with production and the more practical side of putting this tour together so today I was informed that production did not fill out the correct paperwork in a timely manner to have our visas to come for the USA to perform.
‘It means that by no choice of my own I will have to pull out of my New York, Chicago and Toronto shows. For those of you who are wondering why I have to pull out of Toronto because it’s not part of the United States, it’s because of routing and the complex beast that touring is.
I don’t take this lightly, I am completely devastated to be honest with you, I am heartbroken. All I wanted to do is be there with you and bring EuSєxua…
‘I have not performed in the USA since 2019 and it really feels like a home away from home, and this is just such a huge blow and I feel super let down and I’m looking into how and why this happened and I’m making sure I have the support to correct this.
‘So with that being said, I will be rescheduling these shows and information will be coming on that very shortly. I can’t wait to bring EuSєxua to you, it’s truly been one of the greatest achievements of my life.’
‘It’s been this amazing, spiritual, enlightening whirlwind and all I want is to be with you and be performing for you. I am truly devastated and I am so sorry to everyone if this has affected your plans. Thank you so much for understanding. We’re going to reschedule and I’m going to come to you harder and stronger than ever.
‘Thank you so much, love you and I’ll see you soon.
FKA twigs was due to perform in Chicago, Illinois on March 26 and in Toronto, Canada on March 30 which would have been followed by two shows in New York on April 3 and 4.
She revealed the tour had been ‘challenging’ on the production side, which led to the cancellation and postponement of shows in the United States.
She said: ‘So as you may have seen I have been performing the EuSєxua tour in the UK and Europe and that’s been incredible, the reception, the crowd and the artistic expression’
The EuSєxua tour started got off to a rocky start when the star cancelled the opening two shows in Prague and Berlin based on ‘shipping issues.’
She is next scheduled to perform in Mexico City on April 6 and will resume the U.S. portion of the tour during both weekends of Coachella starting on April 11.
In January, FKA twigs opened up on what inspired her album EUSєxUA – and the ‘healing programme’ she created alongside it.
She appeared on the latest episode of Spotify’s Countdown To podcast series, where she was interviewed by legendary singer-songwriter Imogen Heap.
Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, shared her insights into the album’s origins and what the word means to her, ahead of its January 24 release.
Along with the coining of the term EUSєxUA, FKA twigs has created THE ELEVEN: eleven pillars of movement, designed to be a form of self-healing, every one being informed by her lifelong study of movement as a dancer.
Describing the album, the singer said: ‘EUSєxUA is really this mixture of slightly psychadelic, childlike, playful exploration of what it is to be human. But then mixed with that, this raw, dirty, hard, Sєxual grit as an undertone.
‘I created these 11 pillars and made up these words for them. I started to, adjacent to the album, make up these words like croning, which is an addiction to technology.

‘The 11 pillars were aspects of my life that I felt if I looked at and made adjustments to then I could be closer to EUSєxUA.’
She continued: ‘For me, EUSєxUA is creating purely and unabashedly, it’s feeling more comfortable in my body Sєxually, it’s being more present and being able to be at that pinnacle of human experience as much as I possibly can.
‘So I made up this 11 steps healing programme which is a lot of girating and shaking. It’s incredibly raw and primal movement.’
Speaking about why she made the album, she admitted: ‘I had no choice. Before EUSєxUA I was hanging on by an eyelash.
‘It feels like a matter of survival. It comes back to these 11 pillars that I had to create to be able to make EUSєxUA and these 11 pillars are there to help me.
‘Now I’m giving them to the world. It helped me all of my life. I cannot make art if I am surrounded by past versions of myself.’
Also opening up on her dance background, she recalled: ‘I started dancing when I was seven and I was professional by the time I was 12. I was in dance competions. I was classically trained when I was young and then when I got older I started to despise dance actually.
‘I despised the rules around it and I despied how one’s body had to look a certain way or be a certain way.’
In September, the singer unveiled her conceptual piece of performance art at Sotheby’s, the first of its kind to be shown at the 280-year auction house.
She conceived the visual movement-based artwork called The Eleven with a rotating group of eleven ‘movers’ to perform the work.

FKA twigs calls the art a ‘movement project’ that involves these movers doing ritualised motions designed to improve one’s life.
These choreographed actions are meant to correspond to eleven different aspects of living.
‘It’s a very in-depth method that is based around 11 pillars in my life, which I feel are also pillars in a lot of people’s lives,’ she told the Financial Times.
Audiences at ‘The Eleven’ were encouraged to incorporate the practice into their own lives.
The idea formed five years ago and finally came to be in her east London studio before being exhibited at Sotheby’s.
The piece was complemented by an exhibition of twigs’ sketchbooks, drawings, diaries and polaroids, alongside pH๏τographs by Jordan Hemmingway.
Hemmingway is twigs’ boyfriend who she revealed in a now deleted Instagram post in March 2023.
Twigs has since kept her relationship with the London-based pH๏τographer out of the public domain.
At the same time she was forming the idea for this work, twigs came to the end of an abusive relationship, according to her claims, with the Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf.
He and FKA Twigs brokeup in 2019, and in December of 2020 she filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court accusing him of Sєxual, physical and emotional abuse, along with knowingly giving her a Sєxually transmitted disease.
LaBeouf has denied all of FKA Twigs’ allegations.
