Love Island’s Malin Andersson admits she used to ‘question her Sєxuality’ because she’s ‘never felt safe around men’ in candid post

Love Island’s Malin Andersson admitted she used to ‘question her Sєxuality’ because she’s ‘never felt safe around men’ in a candid post this week.

The former reality star, 32, who is currently single after her split from Swedish hunk Jim Sundgren last year – took to Instagram on Tuesday with some deep thoughts about relationships.

She told how she never had a father figure growing up to show her what love is and so has struggled with finding her ‘feminine’ in adulthood.

Her former partner Tom Kemp was abusive during their relationship, and was jailed in 2020 for ᴀssaulting her.

Speaking to the camera in a video тιтled: ‘BALANCING MASCULINE & FEMININE’, she said: ‘I can truly say I’ve never been made to feel safe around men.

‘At one point I was even questioning my own Sєxuality because I’ve never been able to step into my feminine.

‘I’ve never had the opportunity to because every man I have been with has been so ego driven and wounded in their masculine so I’ve never felt safe.

‘I’ve never felt soft and flowy or tapped into that feminine part. I do strength training and have the single mum life. No one has been able to make me feel safe.

‘It goes back to childhood and I never felt safe enough to step into that feminine – I never had that father figure growing up to show me how love was.’

Last November Malin revealed she had split from her boyfriend just two months after they went Instagram official.

She confessed she had found love again with Swedish hunk Jim Sundgren last July after suffering through both heartbreak and abuse in her previous relationships.

However the pair sparked split rumours after unfollowing each other on Instagram last October and in November Malin confirmed the pair have gone their separate ways.

Taking to her Instagram Story at the time Malin wrote: ‘And for those messaging me about my relationship status I’m absolutely single as I promised myself I would NEVER settle.

‘I truly know what I deserve and want in a man. I see what should be me as a 32 and feel like I need to rush into something for society’s sake, but I will never as I love every inch of myself to be alone for now.’

Malin previously explained that she met her new boyfriend online after a period of ‘healing’, and gushed that she had ‘never been connected with someone like with him’ ever before.

Her last boyfriend Jared broke up with her just four weeks after she gave birth to their daughter, Xaya, in January 2022.

While her former partner Tom Kemp was abusive during their relationship, and was jailed in 2020 for ᴀssaulting her.

Malin – who is half-Swedish and half-Sri Lankan – explained that her new boyfriend also hails from Sweden and was ‘nothing like her usual type’.

She told New magazine: ‘It’s early days, but I’ve never met anyone like him.

‘I’ve never been connected with someone like I have with him my whole life and it makes me emotional thinking about it.

‘When you’ve gone through all of these abusive relationships, you get to do the healing and then you get comfortable being on your own.

‘I got to a point where I was like, “Maybe I’m just going to always be on my own, just me and Xaya and I’m coo with that.” But now my heart is full.’
