Susanna Reid was left lost for words after her co-star Andi Peters took a brutal swipe at her outfit live on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday. 

The 54-year-old was joined by Richard Madeley, 68, on the ITV show to discuss the most newsworthy topics from this week. 

The journalist opted for a pink, white and green striped shirt and white trousers for her stint on the breakfast show, and at the end of the instalment revealed what everyone in the studio had been saying about her.  

Susanna said: ‘Andi has a good comparison as well… What do I look like Andy?’

Andi, who was located in Syon Park in Brentford, London, to chat to viewers about their show’s compeтιтion, didn’t hold back and replied: ‘Do you know what, Susanna, you look like a bag of sweets…’

‘The Squashies. You literally look like the bag of a Squashies.

Ani, who was located in Syon Park in Brentford, London, to chat to viewers about their show’s compeтιтion, didn’t hold back and replied: ‘Do you know what, Susanna, you look like a bag of sweets…’

Susanna later took to Instagram to share what shops she got her outfit from – and she luckily found the funny side of it 

‘And I was like “Oh my goodness, Susanna’s come dressed as a sweet.”‘

Susanna replied: ‘Yes! It’s amazing.’

The news anchor previously mentioned at the end of the ep: ‘Just before we go…

‘I did not do a Blue Peter special and make my This Morning outfit out of napkins,’ as she pulled out a tissue that looked similar to her shirt.

She added: ‘Although Mark, in the green room, did find this.. Isn’t that extraordinary?’

Richard cheekily clapped back: ‘That didn’t come with the top?’

Luckily Susanna found the funny side of his comment and after the show took to Instagram to mock her outfit. 

In one snap she stood in the studio while holding a napkin with the same pattern as her shirt.

Then in the next two stories she shared a snap of some sour cheery and apple drumstick Squashies and then a single green Twister ice lolly. 

Susanna captioned he grid post: ‘IN THE PINK!’ 

Many rushed to the comments section on the social media platform to praise the stylish look.

One wrote: ‘I love it when everything matches.’

Another added: ‘Gorgeous.’

A third added: ‘Beautiful whatever you’re wearing.’

‘Love the shirt,’ a fourth chimed in. 

A fifth said: ‘It’s a great outfit.’
