Natalie Joy, wife of Bachelor alum Nick Viall, shared heartbreaking news on Sunday, revealing she suffered another miscarriage just months after her previous pregnancy loss.

In an emotional Instagram post, Joy, 26, reflected on the unexpected turn of events.

‘While mourning the loss of our second baby at the beginning of this year, I quickly and very unexpectedly found out I was pregnant again,’ she wrote. 

‘It took some time for me to accept what had happened only to be handed another chance so easily and so fast. Eventually, I found so much happiness,’ she continued.

Joy, who welcomed daughter River Rose with Viall in February 2024, said she and the former Bachelor star had finally reached ‘a place of complete and utter graтιтude.’

However, she revealed that she lost the baby over the past week.

‘I miscarried again. I underwent a D&C this time, which was harder than I imagined.’

A Dilation and Curettage (D&C) is a surgical procedure used to remove tissue from the uterus, often performed after a miscarriage or abortion, or to treat other conditions like heavy bleeding.

According to Joy, it will ‘take some time’ to feel like herself again.

‘Honestly, I may never will,’ she admitted. ‘I hope to keep y’all involved in whatever that may look like.’

She expressed graтιтude for Viall and their daughter during this difficult time. 

‘[I’m] going back to squeezing my husband and my sweet angel River Rose, who are truly the reason I have survived this time and time again,’ she concluded.

In January, Joy and Viall first opened up about their devastating loss on the Bachelor alum’s podcast.

Natalie called the loss one of her ‘biggest’ heartbreaks of her life.

The couple recently found out she was expecting their second child and Natalie revealed that she started spot bleeding that continued to get worse, eventually leading to her miscarry in the bathroom.

‘That was definitely the hardest night of my life. Just experiencing that is something I wouldn’t wish upon anyone,’ she said, adding that she feels ‘ᴅᴇᴀᴅ inside.’

‘I’ve been trying to be a good mom to River and come and do my job, whether it’s on the podcast or on social media for the past week. And currently as I sit here today, I’m actively miscarrying our second child, and its has been the biggest heartbreak, I think, of my life,’ Natalie said on the podcast episode.

The star recalled the night it started, after she had been ‘spot bleeding’ for a bit and then it continued to get ‘heavier and heavier.’

She said she went to use the restroom to go urinate and ‘it was like I gave birth.’

Natalie was crying and screaming, which led to Nick rush to the bathroom to see if she was okay.

‘And you know, you just think like, “How are you supposed to stand up and flush this baby down the toilet? Like how do you do that?’ Natalie said.

Nick revealed that he ‘retrieved’ it, calling it ‘traumatic.’

‘That was definitely the hardest night of my life. Just experiencing that is something I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. And unfortunately, I know a lot of women do experience it, and I just feel for these people so much because I was so mad at my body for letting it go. You know? I was like, “Why couldn’t you just hold on to it?”‘

The brunette said she then called her doctor, who ᴀssured her that the pregnancy was ‘unviable’ outside of the body.

‘I think it’s the only thing that you have to hold on to to be able to heal, you know, is to have the doctors ᴀssuring you of like, this baby wasn’t gonna live regardless. Our doctor being able to say it was unviable. It wasn’t going to live outside of your body, it gives you some hope of like, okay.’

The duo are parents to daughter River Rose, 11 months

Their daughter River Rose was born on February 2, 2024

Nick and Natalie married on April 27, 2024, after dating for four years.

They started dating in July 2020, after she slid into her direct messages on Instagram.

‘I think DMs are a great place to meet people. My current girlfriend slid in my DMs. Real clever, it said, “You’re unreal.” I guess it was funny. I was more curious why I was unreal,’ he told E! News in 2022.

The couple went Instagram official in January 2021, with the lovebirds making the red carpet debut four months later.

The duo got engaged in January 2023 and announced she was pregnant with their first child in August 2023. 

Their daughter River Rose was born on February 2, 2024.

Nick and Natalie married on April 27, 2024 in Georgia and her family’s 200-acre farm.
