Now, the American actress, 36, looks completely unrecognisable 24 years on after switching out her short curly brunette locks for a blonde look.

In a previous snap, the star appeared in high spirits as she posed up a storm with her husband Carlos at the Grand Opening of Le Jardin in Hollywood. 

She looked nothing short of sensational in a chic pink top, which showcased her glorious tan, as she beamed for the camera. 

Meanwhile, her husband Carlos, sported a green shell ʙuттon-up jacket and a white V-neck shirt as he wrapped his hands around her waist.

The American actress landed her first acting job in 1996 at the age of eight, starring as young Jo Harding in Twister. 

She also guest starred in numerous television shows and films including ER, Follow the Stars Home, Ghost Whisperer, and The Bernie Mac Show. 

However, she became known worldwide in 2001 for her role as Carmen Cortez in Spy Kids. 

The first Spy Kids film was a huge success, leading to two sequels: Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. 

During filming, Alexa performed most of her own stunts, and in 2011, she appeared in the sequel, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World. 

A synopsis for the film states: ‘Two young kids become spies in an attempt to save their parents, who are ex-spies, from an evil mastermind.’ 

‘Armed with a bag of high-tech gadgets and out-of-this-world transportation, Carmen (Alexa) and Juni (Daryl Sabara) will bravely jet through the air, dive under the seas and crisscross the globe in a series of thrilling adventures on a mission to save their parents… and maybe even the world.’

Following her stint in the films, Alexa was named one of the year’s H๏τtest teen celebrities in the July 2003 issue of Vanity Fair. 

In late 2012, she started dating American actor and singer Carlos PenaVega, 35, after meeting him at a bible study. 

The couple got engaged in August 2013 and tied the knot on January 4, 2014, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. 

They share three children – sons Ocean, seven, and Kingston, four, and daughter Rio, two.
