The Chase fans raged it’s ‘time to switch off’ as they abandoned the ITV quiz after a major issues ‘spoiled’ the episode.
Four players Dawn, Cesare, Lara and Colin put their general knowledge to the test on Wednesday’s instalment of the popular programme, hosted by Bradley Walsh, 64.
They took on Chaser Anne Hegerty, known as The Governess, but a pattern soon emerged when the first three players accepted lower offers of £1,000 to try and secure themselves a spot in the final.
Cesare went last and bagged the higher option of £87,000 and successfully returned to teammates Colin and Dawn after Lara was knocked out by Anne.
However, some fans were not impressed by the players taking lower offers and many took to social media to express their frustration at the problem, with one even claiming it ‘spoiled’ the show.
One posted on X: ‘Anyone who suggests other contestants to take the middle / high offer after taking a low offer should immediately be docked 50% of their share.’

Someone else said: ‘If I was going on a quiz show like the #TheChase, then I’d think I was a decent quizzer. And more than capable of attempting the middle offer.
‘Taking the low offer, just feels like what’s the point of going on? Puts the pressure on seat 4 now. He can’t go low. Or can he.’
A third wrote: ‘I genuinely don’t understand why people bother going on this show & then go low. When are you ever going to get the chance to win tens of thousands of pounds again?
‘Why settle for a grand when there’s the chance of £75k? If you’re knocked out at least you tried.’
One viewer quipped: ‘Just turned over, it is getting silly now.’
Someone else penned: ‘2 low offers and £1500 between 2 so far… time to switch off the telly.’
Another said: ‘Too many low offers being taken this series. Spoiling the show unfortunately.’

While one chimed in: ‘Another low offer have now switched off.’
According to the Express, another fan commented: ‘Giving up on The Chase. So boring now.’
Contestant Cesare even joined the discussion on X and posted: ‘Due to how offers are made, #TheChase best strategy is to go low-low-low-high.
‘If the first three get through the last high offer is indeed very high to tempt the 4th person. High risk, high reward. Having said that, best strategy doesn’t always equate a win. Epidemics, I know.’
The players did not manage to beat Anne and walked away with no prize money after she won with five seconds left.
During the same episode, fans also urged host Bradley to ‘stop’ as he kissed Cesare’s cheek when he managed to bag the huge amount for the team.
