The Grand Tour fans have A LOT of complaints as Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May reunite for comeback special

The Grand Tour fans have shared their complaints ahead of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May reuniting for a comeback special.

The motoring television series, which stars the trio, hit our screens on Amazon Prime Video in 2016, and aired until last year.

Earlier this month it was revealed that the the trio would be back on our screens for a new instalment called The Not Very Grand Tour – due to air on April 18.

Unfortunately not every fan is happy with the news.

One brutally wrote on Metro Facebook post: ‘I would rather stick needles in my eyes.’

A second added: ‘Not keen on these 3 to be honest.’

‘Honestly they really don’t have to, in fact I’d rather they didn’t,’ a third chimed in.

Meanwhile on Reddit another critic chimed in: ‘Sometimes it’s better to call it a day rather thank keep milking things…’

Prompting a second to agree: ‘Yep, let it rest now.’

Meanwhile others rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share how excited they are to see them back on their TV screens.

One said: ‘They’re backkkkkkkk! Apr 18th the not very grand tour! Ah man I can’t wait for this. These 3 could talk about rocks and I’d still watch.’

‘I will most certainly be waiting on this to drop. #thegrandtour #topgear,’ a second tweeted.

A third added: ‘The Iconic TV trio is already making a return to the screen Clarkson, Hammond, and May are returning for a new show on Amazon Prime.’

The original series followed the trio on a worldwide mission to meet different car manufacturers and has been on air since 2016, following their departure from Top Gear two years earlier.

But the show finally came to an end last year with the standalone episode of the sixth series, which saw the three stars head out in cars they’ve always wanted to own.

It marked an emotional end of an era for the trio, who first started working together on Top Gear more than two decades ago.

On the BBFC website, the show is described as ‘a motoring comedy documentary series’.

And the explanation of the first instalment reads: ‘In this episode, the team celebrate the combustion engine, with a look back at footage from past adventures and test drives.’

Meanwhile, in the cast section of the show Jeremy, Richard and James are listed, with Phil Churchward as director.

It comes just after Jeremy made his return to the world of motoring TV, after secretly filming for an episode of Car SOS, set to air next month.

The former Top Gear host, 64, is said to be appearing alongside hosts Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townshend for a special episode of the programme as he has a hand in repairing an old vehicle.

Jeremy helped the duo to restore a Land Rover Discovery Series 1 as a surprise for a deserving driver, according to the Daily Star.

The presenter even allowed the crew to film the big reveal of the new motor at his lavish home.

Host Tim told the publication: ‘Jeremy was happy for us to bring a full coach load of people. I mean, think about it – 60 strangers turning up at your property!’

While the engineer added that despite Jeremy having a reputation for being grumpy, he was extremely welcoming to everyone on set.

He said: ‘We spent about half an hour with Jeremy and he was warm, friendly, and, of course, typically sarcastic and funny.

‘He genuinely cared about the wellbeing of both the team, and most importantly, the car’s owner.’

Jeremy’s appearance on the motoring show came just months after the final episode of The Grand Tour aired in September.

Meanwhile, Richard and James reminisced on their time on Top Gear as they took a ‘traumatising’ visit to their old studio – ten years on from their final show.

In a video released on Wednesday, for James May’s YouTube series, Planet Gin, the duo decided to revisit the office for ‘reasons unknown.’

James began: ‘Well that is the old Top Gear studio. And that is the old Top Gear green room.’

Walking a round the complex they pushed open the door to one of the abandoned trailers and reminisced on their days on set.

Richard said: ‘It smells the same, terrible. It’s weird it seems like only yesterday but also 100 years ago.

‘This is where we ᴀssembled, worked on scripts, had arguments. I feel funny. I feel funny as well. I felt really odd being here. Every week we would come here for years and years and years.’

James added: ‘The smell of it is almost traumatising… do you think if I opened this door we’d slip through a portal and be back in 2000 and whatever it was?

‘I sort of want to find something that we left here.’

Richard joked: ‘What like? Hope, ambition, vigour?’

He added: ‘The last time I was here, I was leaving after the last studio record.

‘I was in the bronze Land Rover. And I sat up and thought, well, that was that.’

All episodes of The Grand Tour are available to stream on Prime Video.
