Teddi Mellencamp revealed she was officially beginning radiation treatment amid her battle with cancer on Tuesday – 24-hours after she was spotted looking cosy with Southern Charm star Shep Rose.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 43, recently underwent emergency surgery to remove tumours from her brain, before doctors detected another five.

Teddi took to her Instagram Stories with the update before revealing she’d been forced to miss daughter Slate’s science fair, which the 12-year-old won.

She paid tribute to estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, with whom she also shares, Cruz, 10, and Dove, five, who attended the school event for ‘being there to support’ their kids.

Taking to her Stories Teddi, who has been forced to shave her head amid treatment, wore a long blonde wig and said: ‘Ok so we are trying again, hopefully this is day one of radiation since yesterday the machines broke we’re ᴀssuming today is going to work’.

Shielding her eyes behind shades, she appeared in good spirits and joked with pal Jen Turner Leipart who was driving her to the hospital.

Later sharing a snap of Slate at the science fair she captioned the post: ‘So proud of Slate and Lila. Winners of science fair. I was getting radiation so I am grateful to @edwinarroyave for being there to support the girls’.

Teddi filed for divorce from Edwin in November, days before DailyMail.com exposed her months-long affair with her German-born horse trainer Simon Schröeder.

But despite being rocked by infidelity claims, divorce is currently ‘off the table,’ with him helping his estranged wife amid her cancer battle.

It comes after Teddi was spotted being looking cosy with Southern Charm star Shep Rose as they enjoyed dinner together in LA on Monday.  

Interestingly, Shep, 44, is recently single having just split up from his girlfriend only two weeks ago. 

For their casual date outing, Teddi was dressed chic in neutrals, stepping out in a boxy beige sweater over a white T-shirt and wide leg jeans and white sneakers.

Rose looked relaxed in a long sleeve gray sweater with a zip at the neck and a pair of brown corduroy pants. 

The restaurateur placed an orange billed hat over his light brown hair and sported a scruffy beard.

Rose shared some sweet details of their meeting on social media. 

‘In case you all didn’t know my hometown friend @teddimellencamp recently had several tumors removed from her brain,’ he wrote sharing a pH๏τo of the two of them together. 

‘There’s still lots to battle but we decided to meet up if she was up for it. We met in Encino, a magical village in the valley,’ he said.

‘As soon as i saw Teddi and gave her a hug, we argued about where to sit. 

‘She then rather bluntly announced “I almost died and I still might – make a decision for once Shepard.”’

Rose shared that the two longtime pals ‘love dark humor and Teddi is the queen of it.’ 

After sharing they had ordered chicken parmesan pasta and some bread and oil, the pair seemed to enjoy, ‘More laughs than anything.’ 

The still single RelationShep star wrote that Mellencamp ‘has a keen interest and derives much pleasure in my misadventures. Which i think means that she loves me.’

Rose’s last relationship with Sienna Evans ended in Fall 2024, but the relationship is being explored on season 10 of Southern Charm, which began airing in December 2024.

In an Instagram Question and Answer session Monday, the two pals spoke about growing up together in Hilton Heard, South Carolina, and revealed that there had never been any sparks between them.

‘I’m one of the only people in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina that did not make out Shep,’ she told viewers.

‘That’s true,’ the charming Southerner replied. 

‘It’s very unfortunate, I know it’s one of your biggest regrets,’ he joked.

The reunion came as Mellencamp was scheduled to begin receiving radiation for her cancer in addition to the immunotherapy she will be receiving every three weeks. 

Teddi braced for the worst ahead of her brain tumor diagnosis in February.

The star reunited with Tamra Judge, 57, for a new episode of their Two Ts In A Pod podcast on Thursday and spoke in detail about her health crisis.

Judge remembered Mellencamp texting her after doctors discovered multiple tumors on her brain just weeks ago: ‘You said to me, ‘You all thought I was mental, but actually I’m on my deathbed.”

Teddi confirmed, ‘I remember feeling like this is actually it.’

Tamra responded to Mellencamp’s text message by telling her, ‘No, you’re not [on your deathbed], because if you’re on yours, then I’m on mine because I can’t live without you.’ 

WHAT IS RADIOTHERAPY?

Radiotherapy is a cancer treatment in which radiation is used to destroy tumour cells. 

It is most commonly delivered as beams of radiation which are targeted at a tumour and are so powerful that the energy destroys the flesh it is aimed at.

Radiotherapy can also be done by temporarily putting radioactive implants into the body near the cancer, or by swallowing or injecting radioactive medicine.

Because radiation does not distinguish between cancerous and healthy tissue, it can destroy healthy flesh as well.

This can cause side effects such as pain, sickness, tiredness, hair loss and loss of appeтιтe.

Radiotherapy usually takes multiple sessions over a number of weeks, and it can be used to try and cure a tumour or just to relieve symptoms.
