Olivia Culpo detailed her traumatic first trimester of pregnancy in a new video as she revealed that a blood clot in her uterus caused her to bleed ‘everywhere.’

The model, 32 — who suffers from ‘painful’ endometriosis — is expecting her first child with her NFL star husband Christian McCaffrey, 28.

While she waited until last week to confirm the news, a source told DailyMail.com that Culpo is more than halfway through her pregnancy.

And in a TikTok video posted Tuesday, which was recorded in December 2024 when she was nine weeks along, Culpo said she suffered a ‘subchorionic hematoma’ after being bedridden for weeks with pneumonia.

‘I have been on bed rest [for two weeks] and before that I had pneumonia, so I was sick also for two weeks. I’ve been truly on bed rest for four weeks,’ the expectant mother began.

‘Towards the end of the two weeks of being really sick, I got a subchorionic hematoma, which is basically a blood clot in my uterus. And I was bleeding everywhere.’

A subchorionic hematoma is ‘when blood collects under the chorion membrane (the membrane that surrounds a fetus) during pregnancy,’ according to the Cleveland Clinic. 

The condition often occurs in those who are ‘between 10 to 20 weeks pregnant’ and the most common symptom is vaginal bleeding.

The bleeding may increase the chances of pregnancy complications, including miscarriage and premature birth, but a subchorionic hematoma can often ‘resolve on its own without treatment.’ 

Those with uterine irregularities, like Culpo who has spoken publicly about her battle with endometriosis, are at higher risk for subchorionic hematomas.

Culpo continued: ‘So at this point, I was so exhausted [after] two weeks of just not being able to move. And now, all of a sudden, just like purging. It was like a lot.’

She stressed that the bleeding was extremely ‘heavy.’

Culpo quickly sought out the help of a doctor and relieved to learn that her unborn child was unharmed.

‘I went to the doctor and it was exciting to see that there was still a heartbeat.’

She then detailed her doctor’s strict directions for recovery, which centered on her getting plenty of rest.

‘”You can’t go anywhere. You can’t travel.” Like, just truly staying in bed,’ Culpo explained.

She also said that she started taking ‘800 grams’ of progesterone suppositories, which are inserted vaginally and help raise levels of the pregnancy hormone progesterone.

‘The [suppositories] help keep the environment best for the baby. It calms down the uterine wall and allows the placenta to attach,’ Culpo explained.

Despite the health scare and weeks of bedrest, Culpo told her 836,000 TikTok followers that she was ‘really grateful that everything’s going well so far.’

She then spoke directly to those who may also be suffering from a subchorionic hematoma.

‘I hope that this video will help you. If you experience a lot of intense bleeding in your first trimester, it’s not always the worse case that you’re thinking,’ Culpo said.

She ‘really [does] believe’ that the progesterone suppositories are the ‘reason why [she’s] still carrying this baby.’

Culpo then got visibly emotional as she expressed sympathy to those who’ve suffered a miscarriage or pregnancy loss.

‘I didn’t expect this video to get so emotional,’ she said. ‘I just want all of your to know, anybody out there going through any part of pregnancy feeling alone, getting news you don’t want to get, feeling like you don’t know why it’s happening to you: I am praying for you [and] for everybody in their maternity journey.’

Her latest pregnancy update comes after she predicted her baby’s gender in a TikTok video posted Monday. 

In the fun clip, Culpo — who wore a gray maxi dress that showed off her bump and her pregnancy enhanced cleavage — ran through a bunch of old wives tales on how to tell if you’re having a boy or a girl.

She thought the old wives tales that say a woman’s symptoms during pregnancy can predict whether she is having a boy or a girl.

She showed more symptoms that indicated she’s having a girl including morning sickness, acne and her baby’s heart rate being under 140.

In the end, Culpo erred on the side of her intuition, which is telling her she’s having a boy.

She also shared a video of her and McCaffrey romantically holding hands and kissing in the outdoors.

The couple, who have been dating since 2019 and tied the knot last summer in a lavish ceremony in Rhode Island, are yet to announce the gender of the baby.

McCaffrey is the star running back for the San Francisco 49ers, while Culpo is an actress, model and former pageant star.

She has been open about her desire to start a family with McCaffrey before but has also talked about her battle with endometriosis.

In a 2022 episode of reality show ‘Culpo Sisters’, she said: ‘I want to have kids, but I want to make sure that I can. It could be really hard for me to have babies.

‘Endometriosis can affect your fertility in a lot of different ways. You can have endometrial tissue growing near or on your ovaries, it can affect the quality of your eggs, scar your fallopian tubes,’ she explained.

‘There is so much that I don’t know about what’s going to happen in the future with that condition, and I worry all the time about my timeline. I feel like I have to have kids ASAP.’

And the early days of her pregnancy were not easy. In addition to experiencing morning sickness, she was initially unable to exercise.

‘I couldn’t workout the first 4 months of my pregnancy,’ she said in a March 12 Instagram story, adding, ‘not even walking.’
