Beloved Hallmarks star Lyndie Greenwood has revealed she is battling for her life.

The 42-year-old actress, best known for her role in Sleepy Hollow, revealed on social media Monday she has breast cancer.

The Holiday Heritage star looked regal as she reveals her hairless head while posting for a picture at her home in Joshua Tree, California. 

‘Hey there, friends,’ the Shelved star wrote. ‘I haven’t posted in a while because I’ve been dealing with some real life stuff.

‘The big C is a doozy!’ she exclaimed adding that the disease is ‘complicated and ever-changing.’

She added: ‘I’m sending out big love and hugs to you all!! Xox,’ and referred her fans to her Substack where she has been blogging about her experience.

In her blog, the Toronto native explained she had received a diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma. It is a type of breast cancer that originates in the milk ducts and spreads to the surrounding tissue. 

The versatile actress shared she was in Vancouver, Canada prepping to begin ‘an indie road trip movie’ when her doctor called to reveal her diagnosis.

Greenwood said she stayed to finish the movie, calling it ‘one of the most intense and rewarding experiences of my life as a creative person.’ 

She said the ‘timing worked out perfectly for when I could make an appointment with my new oncologist and cancer surgeon.’

Although she was told that her type of cancer was an ‘oncologist’s bread and ʙuттer,’ thing hadn’t been going ‘as easy peasy as we had all hoped,’ and February had ended with a bald head and many scars, ‘some of them visible.’

For her treatment, the SWAT actress was taken off birth control which she had been taking for acne since she was 15 and had undergone a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery.

She must receive a total four chemotherapy treatments every three weeks and afterward will begin taking hormone blocking pills for the next 10 years or so. 

‘My prognosis is very good,’ she said, in spite of some bleeps along the way.

Greenwood is perhaps best known for her work on the show Sleepy Hollow which ran for four years on Fox

She also has a recurring character on S.W.A.T. during seasons one and four  

Greenwood did not say which stage of the cancer she had been diagnosed with.  The American Cancer Society reports ‘the 5-year relative survival rate for localized invasive ductal carcinoma is 99%.’

However, ‘If the cancer has spread into nearby tissue or has metastasized into other areas of the body, the 5-year survival rate begins to decrease.’  

After sharing her health update, Greenwood was inundated with love from her friends and fans.
