Relationship experts have weighed in on whether Danny Jones and his wife Georgia can rekindle their marriage after the BRITs ‘drunken kiss’ scandal.
The McFly star, 39, was filmed sharing a kiss with Maura Higgins at a BRIT Awards afterparty earlier this month and issued a public apology on Friday.
Amid the fallout, his podcaster wife Georgia, 38, has moved out of their family home as they are taking a break, with friends saying she is ‘very cut up’ about the situation.
Now, relationship experts exclusively told MailOnline whether there is a way back for Danny and Georgia and the steps they will have to take to rebuild their relationship.
Relationship consultant Mairead Molloy said their ‘biggest challenge’ will be processing their emotions and rebuilding their trust while navigating the scandal in the public eye.
‘Relationships are built on trust, and when that trust is shaken – especially in such a public way, rebuilding it requires time, effort, and, most importantly, willingness from both sides,’ she said.

‘The key to rekindling their relationship lies in establishing real, honest communication.
‘Georgia has already taken a significant step by moving out, this is not just an emotional reaction but a clear signal that she needs space to process what has happened.’
Mairead revealed the exact steps Danny will need to take to rebuild his relationship with Georgia and noted how hard it will be for them to rebuild things, particularly given the public nature of the scandal.
‘If Danny wants to repair the damage, his actions now need to demonstrate not just remorse but a deep understanding of why this hurt her,’ she continued.
‘Trust is not rebuilt through apologies alone but through consistent, reliable behaviour that shows commitment.
‘They would benefit from private, open conversations, possibly guided by a couples’ therapist, where both can express their fears, frustrations, and hopes without the pressure of an audience.’
She argued that the most important thing for the couple will be stepping back ‘from the noise’ and ‘doing the difficult work of repairing their bond in private’.
‘Reconciliation is always possible, but it needs to be for them – not for the cameras,’ she added.

Meanwhile, dating coach and relationship expert James Preece – who is an author at HeraHaven.com – said ‘words won’t be enough’ for Danny to rebuild his relationship with Georgia and warned it could take them years to recover.
‘Giving each other space is probably the best thing they can do right now. It allows them both to process everything without heated emotions getting in the way,’ he said.
‘Georgia is clearly deeply hurt, and she needs time to process her feelings and figure out whether she can rebuild trust—not just in him, but in the relationship itself.
‘It’s not only about forgiveness, it’s about whether she can move past the disappointment and pain without fearing it will happen again.’
Referencing Danny’s public apology, James said the only person who he needs to make amends with is Georgia and said it could be the ‘final straw’ in their relationship if ‘cracks’ were already forming.
‘Danny has made a public apology, but the only person he really needs to make things right with is Georgia,’ he went on.
‘Words won’t be enough—it’s his actions that will determine whether their marriage can recover. Rebuilding trust takes time, and realistically, it could take years to get back to where they once were.’
‘Whether they make it through this depends on how strong they were as a couple before the BRITs drama. If cracks were already forming, this could be the final straw,’ he went on.

‘But if they had a solid foundation, they at least have something to build on. They want to stand a chance of making things work then it should be before they’ve moved through the pain rather than simply not wanting to be alone.’
Danny and Georgia have been married for 11 years and share a son Cooper, seven, but are currently on a break and living separately after the BRITs fallout.
On Friday, Danny broke his silence on the scandal as he issued a public apology to his wife and family on Instagram.
He said: ‘Hello everyone. Sorry its taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.
‘I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love then so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.
‘I love you guys, thank you for you patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.’
Danny and Georgia were previously pictured during a tense outing on Tuesday in their first appearance since footage of his kiss with Maura was revealed.
Sources exclusively told the Daily Mail that Georgia is still ‘very cut up’ about the situation and she is still processing what has happened.

‘Georgia is still very cut up about the situation and had to get some space away from Danny,’ a friend shared.
‘It has been overwhelming and she needs time to process what has happened.
‘But one thing she is sure about is that she will keep her head held high no matter what the weeks ahead have in store. She refuses to be humiliated anymore.
‘She has got great friends around her who will keep her smiling despite the pain.’
Georgia is also said to be ‘frustrated’ with the way that Danny has handled the fallout from the kiss.
A friend of Georgia’s shared: ‘She is furious – not just with her husband’s actions, but with all the chaos this has brought to their lives, particularly for their young son Cooper.
‘All she wants to do is protect her boy from this mess.
‘It has been overwhelming and she needs time to process what has happened. Only then can she begin to talk about the future. They are now on a break and are living apart from each other.’
‘She is really struggling to get past the betrayal, but she wants to do what’s best for Cooper,’ they added.
Maura is yet to comment on the drama, and has instead jetted to Los Angeles for a shoot with the clothing brand Oh Polly.
