Davina McCall has celebrated a huge milestone on The One Show on Monday as she made her first live TV appearance since her major brain surgery in November last year.
The 57-year-old appeared on the BBC programme last night alongside Billy Monger, 25, to talk to hosts Alex Jones, 48, and Vernon Kay, 50, about Red Nose Day 2025.
Talk soon turned to former Big Brother presenter Davina’s health, after undergoing an operation to remove a colloid cyst in her brain four months ago.
And Davina couldn’t hide her excitement about finally being back at work, being able to do the things she loves again.
Alex pointed out: ‘We are so pleased to see you. We haven’t seen you since you had your op to remove a benign tumour, and we were just saying how worried we all were.’
The presenter then read out a question from a viewer which said: ‘How does it feel to be back at work after your operation?’

Davina said: ‘It feels amazing. I am so happy to be back. It was like the final piece of the jigsaw.
‘I was recovering at home in my bedroom a lot, going for a couple of walks a day, but I was stuck in my bedroom, and it kind of became my safe space.
‘And I kind of didn’t want to leave, and I got a bit nervous about going back to work.
‘I kept in my head [that] I could make an excuse.
‘Michael said to me I know you; I know how much you love work and how much it means to you.
‘I know you’re scared, but this is the final piece of the jigsaw, and I think it’s gonna make a big difference when you go back.
‘I was so angry with him, but when I went back, at the end of the day I sat in the car and was like “Yes!”
‘It felt so good to see everybody and to be back to normal. It felt like something normal I could do that I love.’

‘First live show today!’
Davina endured a six-hour operation to remove a 14mmm colloid cyst from her brain on November 15, after a health check discovered the benign tumour.
Earlier this month Davina revealed how she acted before Dr O’Neill performed the surgery.
Speaking with The Times, she recalled: ‘He doesn’t need me screaming at him to keep me alive.
‘He needs to be in the calmest and most confident place.
‘I wanted to empower Kevin to do the best job he could.’
Davina told him: ‘You do whatever you need to do. I put all my faith in you’.
And she has now become pals with the doctor.
Davina added: ‘We’re going to be friends for the rest of our lives…
‘We are going to go out to dinner with our partners! We are GOING TO DO IT!’
Davina revealed the news back last year on Instagram.
She said in a video: ‘I was offered a health scan which I thought I was going to ace but it turned out I had benign brain tumour which is very rare, three in a million.
‘I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, I saw a few neurosurgeons, had quite a lot of opinions and realised I needed to take it out.
‘It’s quite big, it’s 14mm wide and it needs to come out because if it grows it would be bad. I’m having it removed.’
She added: ‘Say a prayer for me. I’m in good spirits.’
Davina explained that while she was at no immediate risk, doctors were concerned that the tumour could grow larger and cause complications.
A colloid cyst is a slow-growing tumour typically found near the center of the brain. The benign growth contains gelatinous material.
