Swedish Eurovision winner Mans Zelmerlöw ‘files for divorce from Hollyoaks wife Ciara Janson after five years of marriage’

Swedish Eurovision winner Mans Zelmerlöw ‘files for divorce from Hollyoaks wife Ciara Janson after five years of marriage’

Swedish Eurovision winner Mans Zelmerlöw has ‘filed for divorce from his British wife Ciara Janson’.

The singer, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 with his hit Heroes, has been married to Hollyoaks star Ciara for five years.

Mans and Ciara tied the knot in 2019 after meeting in 2016 and the couple share two sons, Albert, six, and Ossian, two. Ciara also shares a son called Archie from a previous relationship.

But Swedish publication Aftonbladet reported on Tuesday that the pair have called it quits after Mans filed for divorce.

Under Swedish law, as the couple have two children they will have six months to consider the divorce before it is granted.

A source said: ‘It is correct that Måns Zelmerlöw has recently filed for divorce from Ciara.

‘It is of course a difficult decision to make, not least for a parent of young children who is also a public figure.

‘We now appeal for understanding and consideration that Måns and Ciara have two young children together. The family needs privacy in order to best handle this situation.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Mans for comment.

Mans began dating Hollyoaks star Ciara in 2016 after he split from Swedish singer and model Marie Serneholt – who he dated for three years until 2011.

Cara and Mans later announced their engagement and in December 2017, they revealed they were expecting their first child.

Ciara gave birth to their first son in May 2018, which Mans announced via social media.

The couple finally tied the knot in September 2019 and in August 2022, Mans announced on Instagram that Ciara had given birth to their second son.

The pair lived on a vineyard Staffanstorp during their relatioship but Ciara travelled back to England every other week to see her son from a previous relationship.

Heartthrob Mans won with the electro-pop ballad Heroes in 2015, giving Sweden it’s sixth win in Eurovision history.

It came three years after Sweden won in 2012 with Euphoria by Loreen and now gets to host the contest again next year. Loreen went on to win the show again in 2023.

After his win, Mans went on to host the 2016 compeтιтion in Stockholm alongside Swedish TV presenter Petra Mede.

It comes after a Finnish Eurovision singer has revealed the bizarre request that organisers made after they deemed her performance of ‘I’m Coming’ too raunchy for the compeтιтion.

Erika Vikman, 32, won Finland’s national selection in February with her song Ich Komme (I’m Coming), a pop track featuring cheeky lyrics, provocative choreography, and a bold, skin-baring outfit.

The song is performed primarily in Finnish, but the chorus is in German, with the repeated phrase Ich komme – which translates to I’m coming in English – raising eyebrows over its suggestive double meaning.

Now, ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, from May 13 to May 17, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has reportedly demanded changes to her act, requesting that she make her spicy performance less explicit.

Speaking to Finnish media, Vikman confirmed that organisers had asked her to tone down her routine, particularly calling for her to ‘cover her backside’ and adjust her movements on stage.

‘It’s not just one thing, it’s everything. My clothes, what the song is about, how I move on stage. The EBU has said it’s a bit too Sєxual. They want to cover my ʙuтт,’ she told Swedish newspaper, Expressen.

Her original H๏τ-blooded performance featured a fetish-inspired black corset, revealing chaps, and a pole-dance-style routine using her microphone stand, all set to pulsating electronic beats and provocative lyrics.

The singer explained: ‘I’m wild, I have more to give. I’m Sєxual on stage – and after two years of tango, I wanted to be a pop diva.’
