‘Then Erin did an amazing line, she said “am I boring you?” so that took me back and it made made me smile because it wasn’t in the scripts.
‘I wasn’t expecting that at all, so it took me back a little bit, but it was amazing.’

Earlier on in the interview, Stephen – who plays Jamie’s dad Eddie Miller – revealed the preparation that they all had to undergo to make sure everything was perfect for the continuous sH๏τ.
Stephen explained: ‘Each episode is sH๏τ over three weeks, but for the first week, our amazing and unbeliavable director and DEOP Philip Barantini, they were absolutely phenomnal.
‘So for the first week, working on the script, analysing the text, the second week, we kind of work with the camera and we choreograph the whole thing.
‘Then the third week, you shoot two scenes a day.
‘So ultimately you could end up with 10 takes, but for the first episode, that was our second take.
‘Your [Owen] episode, which is unbelievable, episode three, take 13. We had a couple of stops.
‘It’s from the beginning to the very end. It’s all done in one continuous series.’
Adolescence is made up of four episodes.
The drama was created and written by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham.
The cast include Stephen, Owen, Erin Doherty, Ashley Walters, Faye Marsay, Christine Tremarco, Mark Stanley, Jo Hartley and Austin Haynes.
