Danny Jones may have broken his public silence after his ‘drunken kiss’ with Maura Higgins at the Brit awards earlier this month.
However the McFly singer reportedly ‘isn’t out of the woods yet’ despite his Instagram apology to his wife Georgia and son Cooper, seven.
Danny, 39, hit the headlines after spending the evening with Maura, 34, at Universal Music’s BRIT Awards afterparty, where they were spotted in a compromising clinch.
And a source close to the musician has told the Mirror that ‘He has been mortified about what’s happened and the awful situation he has put everyone in.
‘He cares so deeply about his family and hopes his words will draw a line under what has been a deeply upsetting time for everyone. Georgia and his son are absolutely everything to him.’
They added: ‘He and Georgia are living together and trying to work things through but he is not out of the woods. He will be in the doghouse for a while yet.’

Danny broke his social media silence on the ‘drunken kiss’ on Friday as he apologising to Georgia for ‘putting her in the situation’.
However the star has also made a huge change to his social media profile after he then also removed comments from some recent posts.
He removed reaction to posts including one about the BRITs warm up show, a video showing him enjoying a drink at the awards bash with bandmate Tom Fletcher, and a snap with the pair and KSI.
Georgia has also done the same and turned off comments on her uploads including her most recent post of a black and white snap of the couple’s son Cooper.
Taking to Instagram on Friday with an apology two weeks after the incident took place, Danny said: ‘Hello everyone. Sorry its taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.
‘I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love then so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.
‘I love you guys, thank you for you patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.’

Meanwhile Georgia returned to social media on Tuesday but simply shared a pH๏τograph of their son Cooper, seven, while Danny mysteriously failed to engage with the post.
Less than 24 hours later, Danny finally returned to social media after a weeks-long absence but didn’t comment on the scandal as he shared a string of cringe posts.
Rather than addressing the headline-making controversy, Danny simply re-shared more than 40 posts wishing him a happy birthday and gushing over his ‘amazing’ personality.
While a few posts were from his celebrity friends, the majority were from his adoring McFly fans as they shared their well wishes on his special day.
Notably, his wife Georgia failed to share a post on his birthday as she remained completely silent on Instagram.
