Chris Martin looked in great spirits as he enjoyed lunch with his daughter Apple at the Gritti Palace H๏τel in Venice on Thursday. 

The pair sat at the table to enjoy some fine Italian dining before the 20-year-old was seen showing off a ring to her singer father. 

Chris was seen beaming as he kept his outfit low key in a black long-sleeved top and black baseball cap which read ‘kiiid’.

Meanwhile Apple embraced the natural makeup free look and swept her blonde locks off her face as she balanced black sunglᴀsses on her head. 

The pair were seen embracing as they met for lunch after Chris previously opened up about being ‘sad’ now that his children have left home. 

The Coldplay frontman, 48, who shares Apple and son Moses, 18, with his ex wife Gwyneth Paltrow opened up about fatherhood now that both his children have moved out to go to college.

Speaking in an interview back in December, he admitted: ‘It’s sad. That’s the only word. 

‘But of course, it’d be weirder if they were still like, “I can’t leave.” Then you’d be more worried.’ 

Both Apple and Moses are college students, with the former attending Vanderbilt University and the latter a freshman at Brown. 

Earlier that month, Chris, Gwyneth, and Moses attended the Le Bal Des Débutantes at the Shangri-La in Paris, where Apple made her social debut.

The musician admitted he never imagined himself participating in the ball but agreed to do so out of love for his daughter.

Chris called the soiree ‘so not something I ever thought I’d do, but because I’m so in love with her, I’m like, “OK.”‘

The profile noted the ball was a chance for the whole family to reconnect now that the children had left the nest. 

However Apple was later accused of exhibiting ‘mean girl’ behavior during the nepo-baby event.

The A-list family, who were personally invited by the ball’s host, were decked out in Valentino looks.

Apple wowed the crowd as she posed for pH๏τos in a custom blue Valentino Haute Couture gown that took the Italian luxury fashion house 750 hours to craft, according to Vogue.

‘Apple’s more playful and fun and she’s really a total girls’ girl.She would never mean to take the spotlight from anyone, that was not her intention.

‘To characterize her as a mean girl is very untrue,’ the insider said.

‘She really had such a wonderful evening and I feel bad that this is even taking away from that because it was such an uplifting evening for her and the other girls.’
