Christopher Lambert, best known for his role as Connor MacLeod in Highlander, has been recovering from a back injury he sustained while tripping on stairs at a H๏τel a few months ago. 

The César Award-winning actor – who turns 68 this month – has been in physical therapy in order to get back in shape for his next project Tulipomania, his rep Lucas Confortini told TMZ on Thursday.

Christopher was scheduled to appear at a Swedish convention called SciFiWorld in Jönköping this weekend, and they claimed to attendants via Facebook that his ‘serious accident’ occurred on Monday.

Lambert’s rep clarified: ‘While he has the highest respect for people organizing events and fans who attend; unfortunately this time he will not be able to attend the [convention].’

Audiences can next catch Lambert as Professor Moreau in Alberto Gelpi’s 2018 werewolf thriller Shadow of the Wolf, which Lionsgate will finally release in the States via VOD on March 25.

The French-American actor is also gearing up to promote his role as Mark in Simona Calo’s upcoming mystery drama Eyes Everywhere.

Christopher is father to 31-year-old daughter Eleanor Lambert from his six-year marriage to his Priceless Beauty co-star Diane Lane, which ended in 1994.
