Dave Mallow has died at the age of 76.

The Hollywood actor was best known for doing the voice of Baboo in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. 

He died on Tuesday after being in hospice at the MonteCedro Senior Living Community in Altadena, California, TMZ reported on Wednesday morning.

The star also voice-acted in many video games, such as World of Warcraft: Legion, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition and Diablo III.

And the actor voiced commercials for Budweiser, Coast Soap, Airtouch Cellular, Tiger Balm and AT&T Wireless. 

Dave is survived by his older sister, Marilyn, who also resides at MonteCedro.

Mallow had not worked since 2019. 

He graduated from Maine South High School and got a BFA in Theater Arts from Drake University in 1970. 

After a successful tour of duty as a radio personality in the Midwest and New York City, Dave moved to Los Angeles in 1984 to pursue a career in voice acting.

That included commercials, film dubbing, looping, infomercials, narration and voice characterization in countless cartoons and video games.

He played news and sports announcers in films like Nixon, Eraser, The Waterboy, The Yards, Baseketball or The Siege; TV shows such as Everybody Loves Raymond and Roseanne; and commercials that include Visa, IHOP, Bud Ice, Energizer Batteries and Lexus.

Dave provided the daily intros and voice of Baboo for The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, gave voices to Angemon, Gekkomon and Upamon in Digimon, Pero in the film Metropolis, as well as ᴀssorted robots, parrots, soldiers, space jockeys, monsters, geeks, mutants, and ne’ er-do-wells in numerous anime projects and video games over the last twenty-plus years.

And his voice can be heard in the games World of Warcraft, Resident Evil Outbreak, Neverwinter Knights, Final Fantasy, Medal of Honor, and Tekken 5.

In 2007 Dave was nominated for both Best Actor and Best Actor in a Comedy for the 1st Annual American Anime Awards held in New York City.

Commercially, Dave provided a voice for the Dow Scrubbing Bubble, the talking toothbrush for 1-800-Dentist.

He also spoke for Homebase, Budweiser, Coast Soap, Airtouch Cellular, Tiger Balm, AT&T Wireless, Nextel, Ameritech Yellow Pages and U.S. Cellular, among many others.

Mallow’s father worked in radio and television and was a 30-year on-air veteran at Chicago’s WGN.
