Olivia Culpo is currently basking in the bliss of her first pregnancy but it was an uphill battle due to her endometriosis, which can cause infertility.
The expecting 32-year-old only discovered she was suffering from the painful uterine disease following ‘life-changing’ laparoscopy surgery in 2020 with Dr. Smitha Vilasagar at LA’s Atrium Health after being ‘misdiagnosed by a dozen doctors.’
‘I want to have kids, but I want to make sure that I can. It could be really hard for me to have babies,’ Olivia lamented on TLC’s The Culpo Sisters in 2022.
‘Endometriosis can affect your fertility in a lot of different ways. You can have endometrial tissue growing near or on your ovaries, it can affect the quality of your eggs, scar your fallopian tubes.
‘There is so much that I don’t know about what’s going to happen in the future with that condition, and I worry all the time about my timeline. I feel like I have to have kids ASAP.’
In one episode, Culpo had an appointment with Dr. Thais Aliabadi, whom she ‘loves dearly’ despite ‘hating going to the gynecologist.’

‘I just need something that’ll make me feel like I don’t have this looming timeline,’ the Rescue: Hi-Surf actress told the doctor.
Later in a confessional, Olivia admitted ultrasounds made her ‘nervous’ and gave her ‘major PTSD.’
‘I’m always scared of what they’re going to say,’ Culpo confessed.

‘I’m like literally just staring at her lips waiting for her to say something. I just want her to say something good I just want to know that everything looks okay.’
But everything worked out in the end as the Tubi correspondent and husband Christian McCaffrey officially announced their baby news on Monday morning.
