Lady Gaga opened up about her life with her fiancé Michael Polansky while promoting her new album, Mayhem, on Friday.

The hitmaker, 38, wore bridal white as she chatted with Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan about the love of her life, but when it came to talking about wedding plans, the Grammy winner only said, ‘It’s going.’

She was much more effusive about her fiancé of nearly a year. The couple got engaged in April of 2024, but did not confirm it until September.    

‘I think I wanted marriage and kids more than anything,’ she told Strahan in a sit down interview.

‘We’d been talking for three weeks on the phone every single day just getting to know each other and Michael flew to Vegas when I was doing my show to take me on our first date,’ she said of what began as a long-distance romance in 2019. 

However, she was quick cut to the chase. ‘Before we even sat down I said, “Do you want marriage and kids?” and he goes “Yeah, I do.” And I said, “Okay, great. Do you want some champagne?”‘ she said of their first in-person encounter.

‘I think I wanted marriage and kids more than anything,’ she told GMA’s Michael Strahan in a sit down interview on Friday said the singer who wore bridal white for the on-camera chat

‘I think I wanted him to know that I was, like, a family girl,’ the singer, whose legal name is Stefani Germanotta, admitted. 

When explaining what makes the 46-year-old tech executive her person, the Bad Romance singer stated, ‘He just loves the whole me, and I learn a lot from him, he’s so supportive, he’s got an incredibly kind heart.’

She added: ‘He’s my best friend.

‘Being in a partnership with your best friend, I feel is like a huge blessing,’ she continued, ‘and I couldn’t imagine Michael, going through life with anyone but him, honestly.’ 

Polansky helped write some of the songs on Mayhem, but Lady Gaga said they have worked on several different kinds of projects together. 

‘We do a lot together. He includes me in his business as well,’ she shared.

‘And he’s really creative. He plays guitar, he’s like, a beautiful musician. We have a really creative relationship,’ she maintained. 

‘My album’s called Mayhem, but it’s also nice to be in Mayhem with someone else.’ 

Regarding her first studio album since 2020’s Chromatica, the singer-songwriter said, ‘I try to use my artistry and my lyrics and songwriting to create something that was indicative of personal chaos but also how we can still celebrate and dance through it while that’s happening.’

She also wanted to take control of the narrative over her career. 

‘As a woman in music, there was a lot of people that were like, “Oh, this is who made her” or “This is what made her,”‘ she contended.

‘I think that returning to pop music for me was a little bit something I was afraid of because I wondered if I was believing what those people were saying.

‘So I went into the studio and I went in with confidence,’ she told the camera. ‘And I was like, “No, no. I made me, me.”‘
