Remember Monday are gearing up to represent the UK’s Eurovision at the 69th contest which will take place in May.

The country music band, comprising of Charlotte, Holly and Lauren, will be the first girl group to represent the country in over 25 years and recently revealed their unlikely situation with Sabrina Carpenter. 

The last girl group chosen to perform for the UK were Precious in 1999, who placed in 12th position with their song Say It Again. 

Remember Monday will take to the stage with their song, What The Hell Just Happened? as they battle for Eurovision glory.

The 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Basel, Switzerland following Nemo’s victory at the Grand Final in 2024 with their song The Code.

Who are they?

The band, comprising of Charlotte, Holly and Lauren, are a trio of best friends, who have earned a reputation for their strong vocals and perfectly blended harmonies.

They met in sixth form at Farnborough Sixth Form College in Farnborough, Hampshire. 

Their name refers to the day they used to meet up to practise when they first formed. 

Remember Monday first hit TV screens in 2019 when they found fame after reaching the Quarter-Finals on The Voice UK.

As well as their own brand of empowering pop, Remember Monday have become renowned for their viral melodies on social media. They’ve amᴀssed over half a million loyal followers and 11.3 million likes on TikTok alone.

The band have skilfully crafted playful A capella takes on the songs of a wide range of artists from Sabrina Carpenter, Queen and Shania Twain, to Wicked.

The girls all quit their day jobs in 2023 to pursue the band full time and have previously appeared in West End productions. 

This includes Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera (Holly), Mary Poppins (Charlotte), and Matilda (Lauren), who also had a lead role in the SIX tour.

What happened with Sabrina Carpenter? 

Last week, Remember Monday revealed they had wrote a song named 15 minutes ‘a while back.’

Sharing a clip to Instagram, they sang an A capella version of the track, which came after Sabrina Carpenter released her’s, of the same name. 

They captioned the post: ‘Actually wrote a song a while back called ‘15 minutes’ but Sabrina’s is better so ours is in the bin now xo.’

Sabrina’s song, 15 minutes, featured on her 2024 album Short n’ Sweet (Deluxe) and was released as a single last month. 

Her song is a reference to how fleeting fame is.

What song are they performing?  

Remember Monday’s Eurovision entry song What The Hell Just Happened? chronicles the aftermath of a fun night out with friends.

Their entry into the compeтιтion marks the first time a girlband will represent the UK for the first time since 1999. 

The song, which is out now, is an upbeat pop track full of energy, excitement and drama and was co-written by Billen Ted (Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan), Thomas Stengaard and Julie ‘Kill J’ Aagaard.

The girls look set to be onto a winning formula as BRIT Award nominees, Billen Ted, have worked with Little Mix, Anne Marie, MNEK and Armin van Buuren to name a few. 

Thomas Stengaard previously wrote Denmark’s 2013 Eurovision winning song Only Teardrops. Meanwhile, Julie ‘Kill J’ Aagaard is both a multi-platinum songwriter and a successful experimental pop artist in her own right. 

What The Hell Just Happened? will be released through independent music and entertainment company The Other Songs.
