Former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Collin Gosselin has revealed his new career venture – after blaming his estranged mother for his discharge from the Marines last year.

Collin, 20, announced he just established a power-washing company in Pennsylvania, and that he has ‘officially filed as an LLC’ in an Instagram post this week.

‘Gosselin Pressure Washing LLC is ready to tackle that job you’ve been needing to get done!’ he wrote alongside a promotional image that also read: ‘We’re here to transform your home or business!’ 

He continued, ‘With the spring season approaching fast, our goal is to make your home shine, with our pressure washing/soft-wash services.’

‘We prioritize beautifying your home so that all you have to do is admire the shine after we are done!’ he explained.

The post ended with the slogan: ‘Let us take the pressure off your shoulders!’

The new career path comes less than a year after his discharge from the Marines, for which he blamed on his estranged mother Kate for sending him to a behavioral insтιтution at the age of 12

Gosselin first went public with his new business endeavor in November, when he revealed he planned on running the day-to-day operations while simultaneously getting his college degree. 

He went on to thank his supporters in a previous Instagram post for ‘helping me to fulfill a long time dream of mine.’

The new career path comes less than a year after he announced his discharge from the Marines, for which he blamed on his estranged mother Kate for sending him to a behavioral insтιтution in 2016 when he was just 12.

In an August 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Collin maintained his mom sent him away to stop him from revealing her ‘abuse’ as a child. 

‘I was starting to tell people what was going on at home, she caught wind of that and had to put me somewhere where I wouldn’t be able to get the secrets out,’ he claimed.

Collin also alleged that his mother took out ‘her anger and frustration on him’ and would separate him for his other siblings. 

The Pennsylvania native would also reveal that his time in the mental health insтιтution was the reason why he got the discharge from the Marines near the end of training despite being ‘close to graduating.’

‘The paperwork was looked into, and they found out that I was, in fact, in an insтιтution at one point in my life,’ he said at the time, before adding that the United States Marine Corps did not ‘need any deeper reason’ to let him go.

The father of eight would receive sole custody of both Collin and daughter Hannah in 2018

Jon and Kate Gosselin, who were married from 1999 through 2009, first gained recognition as the stars of the reality TV show Jon & Kate Plus 8 (2007-2017)

Collin recalled how the insтιтution ‘took a toll on me mentally, it was a really, really dark place.’ 

In an interview with the US Sun last year, Collin alleged Kate had ‘zip-tied’ and locked him in an unfinished basement with ‘cameras in it, a tiny window in the corner and [that] was bolt-locked from the outside.”

During Vice TV’s Dark Side of the 2000s series his father Jon Gosselin said he began to fight for sole custody of his son after he claimed a doctor told him that Collin did not have a diagnosis. 

It was during the legal battle that a family rift ensued, resulting in some of the former’s couple’s children siding with their mother while Collin and his sister Hannah Gosselin went to live with their dad.

While Kate didn’t comment on her son’s disturbing accusation, her lawyer Richard Puelo told Fox News in September: ‘I don’t believe she intentionally harmed any of her children in any way, shape or form.’ 

Back in 2016, Kate revealed she had sent her son to a residential program for kids with special needs — but did not reveal his exact behavioral issues, according to Page Six.

Jon and Kate Gosselin, who were married from 1999 through 2009, share eight children: twins Cara and Madelyn born in 2000, and Sєxtuplets Collin, Hannah, Joel, Aaden, Alexis and Leah.
