Kristin Cavallari has continued her war of words with ex-husband Jay Cutler  who she previously branded a pathological liar.

The 38-year-old media personality – who recently gave a rare look inside her Tennessee home – was candid in a Q&A with Interview Magazine published on Wednesday. 

She was asked about co-parenting with the 41-year-old former Chicago Bears quarterback.

Kristin’s answer was certainly telling as she simply and scathingly replied: ‘The ultimate test in life.’

This comes months after she branded Jay a ‘pathological liar’ and said he brought ‘zero f*****g consistency’ to their relationship when they were together – while speaking on the Dumb Blonde podcast.

The former reality star shares three children with Jay – sons Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 10, and daughter Saylor, nine – and co-parent with him since they split in April 2020 after seven years of marriage (with their divorce finalized in June 2022).

During her appearance on the podcast in December 2024, Kristin called their co-parenting relationship  ‘so up and down’ and their relationship post-divorce a ‘bumpy road.’

Kristin even addressed the rumored affair he had with her ex-friend Kelly Henderson while they were still married, revealing that it may have happened.

The star also called their romance ‘toxic,’ something which she has previously said in 2022. 

She said that while Jay – who was arrested in October for an alleged DUI in Tennessee – never apologized to her about certain things that happened during their marriage, she can still forgive him and have empathy toward the former football star. 

DailyMail.com reached out to Jay’s reps for comment at the time. 

Kristin spoke about the alleged affair between Jay and Kelly – who was also her Very Cavallari co-star – while he was still married to Kristin.

‘I really don’t think anything happened,’ she said on the podcast.

However, she appeared to backtrack and question if anything did happen between them.

‘I really don’t think anything happened. F**k I don’t know how to be honest with you. Do I know for sure? No.’

Adding that he ‘used to trash her’ – meaning talk badly about her, which she says could mean that something was going on between the two.

‘Jay used to trash her which I sort of think if a guy is trashing a girl, there is probably something going on,’ Kristin explained.

Kristin said that her issue with Kelly was how she ‘added fuel to the fire’ and seemed to play into the rumors on her social media to her advantage.

‘I said something to her and it blew up in my face,’ Kristin recalled. 

‘I will always stand by the fact that if a friend came to me and said “hey listen here’s how your actions made me feel.” I would go “Holy s**t that was not my intention and I’m so sorry let’s talk about this,’ she said, adding that this is also for romantic relationships not just friendships.

‘When people can’t take any accountability and turn it around and throw it in your face – I can’t do that,’ Kristin said.

‘I’ve had a lot of experience from that and it’s a huge thing for me. Moving forward with all of my friendships and relationships is accountability,’ adding that accountability is so ‘f*****g huge and its really hard for a lot of people.’

‘I’m at a point in my life where I can’t do anything with that right? This is how I feel and if you can’t acknowledge that, well then I can’t move on. So that’s basically what happened’ [between her and Kelly].

She even recalled seeing her at the airport, however she said she bolted before she could speak to her.

Kristin said she wanted to just give her former friend a hug because she doesn’t hold grudges.

The mother of three said that divorce was something she never wanted, due to coming from parents who were divorced.

Kristin said it was ‘the last thing I ever wanted,’ when speaking of divorce.

‘That still will creep up once in a while… it just sucks that we’re not together as a family.’ 

While she doesn’t ‘regret a damn thing’ she did call their relationship ‘toxic.’ 

‘When you’re dealing with a pathological liar, it’s hard to know what the f*****g truth is,’ the businesswoman said.

In October, Jay was arrested in Tennessee after being pulled over for allegedly driving under the influence and had two firearms in his car, including a loaded pistol, according to a police report obtained by DailyMail.com

Adding: ‘People who are lying to you or are cheating, that’s because they’re hurt. That’s about them. That has nothing to do with me,’ she noted. 

She did acknowledge that there were good things from their marriage, she did reveal that she he was like her ‘narcissistic’ father and she repeated the pattern from her childhood. 

‘There are things from my marriage that I will never know and I just sort of had to let it go. I’m over it now that’s probably why I can talk about it so freely now,’ Kristin said. 

When the Dumb Blonde podcast host Bunnie Xo brought up the fact that many women who had to get a divorce will never get an apology from their spouse, Kristin said ‘and a lot of time you won’t. I never did. And I never will. But you have to do it for you. You have to forgive them because at the end of the day, people who are lying to you, cheating or whatever the situation may be, that’s because they’re hurt. That’s about them. That has nothing to do with me.’

‘And so when you can get to that place, and almost feel empathy for those people and realize how much they’re struggling, it’s not about me. So I forgive Kelly, I forgive Jay for anything he did… anyone in my life, my dad even – I have empathy for my dad because I understand why he is the way he is. I can have empathy and forgive these people and still not have them in my life. Those two things can co-exist.

The former couple sat together at their son’s basketball game this year, which was something she still can’t believe happened. 

‘We sat together at a basketball game earlier in the year, and I was like, “Holy f**k this is the best thing that’s ever happened. Jesus Christ we made it,’ she said.

During her appearance on the podcast, Kristin called their co-parenting relationship ‘ ‘so up and down’ and their relationship post-divorce a ‘bumpy road’ 

‘We can sit next to each other. And we haven’t sat together since, so I don’t f*****g know. What the f**k.’

Cutler was released from Williamson County Jail later that day after posting a $5,000 bond. 

Days after his arrest, Kristin broke her silence on her ex-husband, making a statement before her Let’s Be Honest podcast episode.

 ‘I wanted to hop on here and just let you guys know that this episode was recorded right before a very public incident that happened last week with my ex-husband, so just keep that in mind as you’re listening,’ the fashion designer told her listeners. 

Kristin also spoke out what is success to herself, to which she said: ‘Success I think is inner peace’

She continued: ‘I will not be commenting on what happened.’

‘I do, of course, wish Jay nothing but the best, and I do hope that he gets the help that he needs, but that’s the only thing I will be saying about it publicly,’ the mother-of-three concluded on the topic.

During the podcast, Kristin revealed that after they split, they did go on a few dates after their separation.

She said it was a ‘trauma bond’ reaction to try to make it work with someone from a ‘toxic’ relationship before she stepped back from it and worked on herself.
