BBC Dragons’ Den star to host new ITV daytime game show ‘unlike anything you’ve seen before’

A BBC Dragons’ Den star is set to host an upcoming ITV daytime game show described as ‘unlike anything you’ve seen before’.

Sara Davies, 40, joined the long-standing entrepreneur programme back in 2019 and was the youngest female investor to ever appear on the show.

Now, the tycoon has been bagged by ITV to present a brand new show called Time Is Money, according to The Sun.

Sara told the news publication how she was ‘absolutely delighted’ to be hosting the new series which she described as ‘exhilarating’.

The compeтιтion show will see contestants begin with a jackpot that they battle to keep – with every wrong answer knocking down the prize money.

By the end of the game, the remaining compeтιтor will bag the cash.

Sara said: ‘This show is unlike anything you’ve seen before — it’s full-on, it’s exhilarating, and the pressure is real.

‘It’s going to be a rollercoaster of excitement and tension, and I can’t wait to see who’ll keep their cool under pressure. Get ready for a make or break adventure, because time really is money!’

Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime at ITV praised the success of other game shows broadcast by ITV including The Chase and Tipping Point.

She added: ‘These shows have become a staple for daytime TV and we’re thrilled to add Time Is Money to the mix.’

Sara joined Dragons’ Den when she was only 35, becoming the youngest dragon.

Crafter’s Companion was founded when she was a university student and spotted a gap in the market for an envelope-making tool which could be used by card makers.

She designed the gadget and had a local joiner make them from MDF. The company now employs more than 190 staff.

Sara has won more than 25 business awards and in 2016 was recognised for services to the economy with an MBE.

Sara’s new venture comes as her other BBC show, The Big Idea Works, was recommissioned for a second series with the first episode airing last month.

The show sees inventors with ideas for innovative products matched with engineers to turn their dreams into a prototype.

Each episode features two inventors, and it follows them as they turn their brilliant ideas into reality.

The Mail’s Christopher Stevens rated it four out of five stars describing it as ‘like Tomorrow’s World crossed with The Repair Shop’.
