Whoopi Goldberg turned heads as she made a rare fashion move by donning an eye-catching gown while attending the 97th Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood on Sunday.
The View host, 69 – who recently showed off her latest makeover after taking weight loss drugs to come down from 300lbs – joined other celebrities on the glitzy red carpet such as Ariana Grande and Elle Fanning.
Conan O’Brien took on hosting duties during the star-studded ceremony which were held at the Dolby Theater.
Goldberg – who was one of the presenters – made an appearance at the event in a strapless, dark navy gown that was made of a material that shone under the bright lights on the red carpet.
The strapless dress contained ruched fabric that wrapped around her shoulders and fell into a full skirt.
She accessorized the look with a pair of sparkling, silver earrings as well as a silver-chained necklace for a flashy flare.

While walking the red carpet on Sunday, she had the chance to talk to E! News as she reflected on the big win 35 years earlier.
The star was asked, ‘What stands out still all these years later about that night for you?’ and she simply replied with, ‘I brought my kid, and now she’s with me again.’

Last year in November, the EGOT winner also gave a previous update on the movie during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
‘We’re having to make some readjustments because we just lost Maggie Smith, as you know. And so, we will get it done. We will get it done. It just is a shift,’ Goldberg stated.
Whoopi’s last appearance at the Oscars was nearly 10 years ago back in 2016 when she stepped onto the stage to present honorary awards.

Whoopi added, ‘But I think it’s very hard for people to just know what a normal weight would be…Everyone has something to say but no one said, “How you doing?” Because it involves so many other things.’
The star further expressed, ‘I always felt like me, and then I saw me and thought, “Oh, that’s a lot of me.” You have to take responsibility for yourself and see what’s going on with your body.’
At one point, Goldberg also referenced to her 2022 film Till and revealed, ‘I will tell you, you know, I weighed almost 300 pounds when I made Till.’
