Zoe Saldana deftly avoided a TV no-no by employing a clever trick as she hit the Oscars red carpet in a see-through dress.

The dress was complicated with a sheer decorated top portion and a tiered maroon skirt which looked retro like an old Audrey Hepburn frock.

At first glance, it appeared that Zoe might be risking a wardrobe malfunction, as the dress was transparent over her bust.

However, on closer inspection, it was clear that Zoe was wearing a ɴuᴅᴇ slip underneath the frock that protected her modesty.

The flesh-toned fabric was a necessary move, as the awards show is broadcast on network television and subject to restrictions on nudity.

Zoe may be taking the stage in front of the cameras that evening, as she is one of the nominees for best supporting actress.

Section 1464, ‘[w]hoever utters any obscene, indecent, or profane language by means of radio communication shall be fined under this тιтle or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.’

This comes a month after Saldana praised her fellow nominees as she accepted the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Perez.

The 46-year-old actress beat off strong compeтιтion from Danielle ᴅᴇᴀᴅwyler, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Ariana Grande, Margaret Qualley and Isabella Rossellini to take home the award for her work in ‘Emilia Pérez’ at the ceremony at the Barker Hanger in Los Angeles. 

She said: ‘To my fellow nominees, the films this year and the work you’ve all done. It’s breathtaking. I will forever be proud to be among you. Thank you to all of you. I can’t see you, but you f****** rock.’ She also shared that she tries not to pay too much attention to movie critics but added ‘I will listen to you all tonight and I will accept this with pride’. 

‘Whenever you receive a negative criticism for a role or a film, everyone says, ‘Don’t read the reviews.’ Then when you get the positive feedback, everyone says, ‘Did you read the reviews?’ But I appreciate the role of a critic. I do sometimes. I sometimes read the reviews and I internalise it, especially the really insightful and helpful feedback, like, ‘Her crying is really distracting. She’s in too many franchises,’ or my personal favourite, ‘She’s too blue.’ So I will listen to you all tonight, and I will accept this with pride. Thank you.
