Viewers were in tears on Saturday night when the BRIT Awards paid an emotional tribute to Liam Payne with a video montage and message in the event’s official programme.

The One Direction star died aged 31 on October 16, 2024, after falling from a H๏τel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Remembering the singer, Jack Whitehall said: ‘We have so many amazing memories of Liam here at the BRITs so tonight we celebrate his legacy, look back and remember the remarkable Liam Payne.’

Then, a tear-jerking video montage of Liam played out, showcasing moments from his career and snippets from his life, with One Direction’s Little Things playing in the background.

A page in the event’s programme also paid tribute to Liam with a tear-jerking message and picture of the star.

The tribute read: ‘The BRIT Awards are dedicated to recognising the influential figures who have shaped music’s past, present, and future.
