American Idol fan favorite is arrested for suspected DUI and underage drinking after car crash in Tennessee

American Idol contestant Colin Stough survived a car accident in Tennessee early Friday morning, but the singer, 20 faces several charges in the incident.

The country crooner who placed third in Season 21 was taken into custody following a single car crash on I-840 East just outside of Nashville early Friday morning, according to documents discovered by TMZ.

Following the accident, the Sober singer was transported to the hospital for a check up and released.

He was then taken to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office where he was charged with DUI, underage consumption of alcohol, and failure to exercise due care before being released on bail.

Later in the day, the Bad Day artist released a cryptic message, sharing a video in which he’s singing about a man who loses the woman he loves due to his drinking.

Over the clip, the hitmaker wrote, I’m not perfect and will never claim to be. But I will admit when I’m wrong and that’s a fact.’

Fans, perhaps unaware of his current legal situation wrote that they loved the song, but didn’t mention anything about his arrest.

It’s unclear if the conditions of his release will prevent Stough from performing in three out of state shows scheduled for next week.

He has shows set up in Saratoga Springs, NY on March 6, Rutland, VT on March 7 and Lincoln, RI on March 8.

It was announced last month that Stough would be headlining the Mississippi Makers Fest 2025, according to Supertalk Mississippi.

While he was competing on American Idol, some of Stough’s past social media posts came back to haunt him.

In one he compared a black man wearing his pants below his underwear to a Confederate statue.

‘How does a statue being in the same place for 100 years suddenly become offensive and men walking around in public with there [sic] a** showing not offensive? Are people really this ignorant?’ he wrote.

Another that drew the ire of American Idol fans was Stough’s support for the Confederate flag. ‘Donald Trump says flying the Confederate flag is “freedom of speech,”‘ he wrote.
