Amanda Holden fought back tears as she revealed to Alan Carr how she ended up in a coma and ‘died’ after giving birth to her daughter Hollie in 2012.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 54, returned to BBC One screens for the latest edition of Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job – where she and Alan Carr, 48, attempt to renovate run-down properties in Spain.
In a recent episode, the duo was seen unwinding with a bottle of Cava after a busy day of work, reflecting on their lives.
Sitting on folded-up camper chairs and taking in some picturesque views, Amanda shared: ‘When you look at mᴀssive landscapes like this, it does put things into perspective.’
She continued: ‘When you lose someone, you believe, don’t you, that they’ve gone somewhere. I’m not particularly religious, but I don’t believe it’s the end.’
Amanda gave birth to her second daughter with music producer Chris Hughes in 2012, an experience that nearly cost her her life.

The Heart Breakfast radio host admitted that there was a time when she was medically ᴅᴇᴀᴅ after giving birth to Hollie, now 12.
She revealed: ‘Without being too maudlin, I had a really difficult birth with Hollie, which ended up with me in a coma. I died.’
‘I was in intensive care, and the baby was fine. And then when I came round and everything was alright, I never stopped thinking about death after that – how easy and close it is to you, all the time.’
Alan nodded in agreement, and Amanda added: ‘Life is so precious. It can disappear from you so fast.’
‘I’m like, “Make every second count,” literally,’ she said, before Alan offered her another glᴀss of Cava.
The actress then lightened the mood by letting out a humorous burp, giggling through an apology.

It comes after Amanda made her return to Britain’s Got Talent for the 18th series of the long-running variety compeтιтion.
The Heart FM star has been part of the judging panel since the show began in 2007, and she shows no sign of slowing down.
Currently busier than ever, Amanda is balancing BGT with her daily Heart Breakfast show, along with her successful double act with Alan Carr .
Together, they’ve filmed three series of their Property Job show and co-hosted the Royal Variety Performance last year.
But, a recent change to the BGT format means Amanda’s schedule is even more packed.
The show will now run for an impressive four months, with new episodes airing weekly.
As a result, Amanda and her fellow judges – Simon Cowell , Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli – have had to sacrifice their Saturday plans to fully commit to the show.
Britain’s Got Talent will return Saturday on ITV and ITVX at 7pm.
