Emily Blunt cuts a serious figure as she films a car scene while Steven Spielberg works his magic on the set of their new movie ‘The Dish’

Emily Blunt cut a serious figure on Wednesday as she filmed car scenes for Steven Spielberg’s new movie, The Dish.

Meanwhile, the legendary film maker, 78, was seen working his magic as he directed a scene on set at the film’s location in White Plains, New York.

According to reports, the film has the working тιтle called The Dish and is being referred to as an ‘event film.’

Actress Emily, 42, was seen behind the wheel of a red car while a plethora of production crew were seen around her.

And the star certainly threw herself into the role as she appeared focused and gazed forlornly out of the window while being filmed.

Steven meanwhile, dressed in a tartan hat and shades, also looked hard at work as he worked on his latest production –  his first since 2022’s The Fabelmans.

In between takes, the two were seen chatting away, while they no doubt discussed the scenes.

Wrapping up against the cool February chill, the A Quiet Place star – who recently filmed scenes alongside Wyatt Russell, donned a long, fleece-lined coat and white trainers.

The forthcoming movie was previously unтιтled and is being referred to as an ‘event film.’

The feature will hit cinemas on June 12, 2026, Universal Pictures shared earlier this month.

The screenplay comes from David Koepp, and the storyline comes from Spielberg.

Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth and Eve Hewson will also star in the movie, the outlet reported.

A report from nj.com noted that the project’s production code name is ‘Non-View’ and a working тιтle called ‘The Dish.’

The website also teased that it will be a ‘UFO-related movie.’

Chatting with NJ Advance Media earlier this year, Koeep said about his longtime collaborator Spielberg, ‘He wrote the story and said, “What do you think of this?”

‘And I said, “Great. What if you did this, this and that?” And, you know, then we went from there.’

Emily’s latest work comes after she recently hinted at the possibility of Devil Wears Prada sequel.

The film star confirmed there are ‘rumblings’ about making a follow-up film at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia in December last year.

The actress famously starred as acid-tongued ᴀssistant Emily Charlton in the 2006 hit comedy, opposite Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.

Speculation about a sequel to the iconic film has been rife for years, reaching a fever pitch in July when it was reported that Disney had brought on screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, who adapted the original film from the 2003 novel of the same name.

While there has yet to be an official confirmation, Emily sparked new hopes for fans as she teased something was in the works.

Speaking during an In Conversation With event, the Oscar-nominated actress opened up about the impact of original film and the role it played in the trajectory of her acting career.

When asked if there was a chance of a sequel film, according to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline Emily told the excited crowd: ‘There [are] rumblings. There is stuff churning around. But I don’t know if I can confirm anything. But we would all be delighted.’

The Oppenheimer star – who received a Golden Globe nod for the original film – admitted that The Devil Wears Prada catapulted her career, as it allowed people to see the range she had as an actor.

She said: ‘Playing that character, who was so insane, it paved the way for people to see me more as a character actor rather than someone who should just be in period drama… a lot of British people are just subjected to wearing a garnet or a crown at some point.’

However, Emily confessed she never could have predicted the wild and enduring success of the film, which made $326.7 million worldwide from just a $35 million budget, and which continues to be beloved by fans 18 years later.

She said: ‘I just didn’t know anything back then. I remember my agent calling me on the opening weekend and saying, “It made this’. I was like, ‘Is that good?’

‘When we were filming it, we were weeping with laughter every day. We thought we were making something funny… but I didn’t know that it would become this thing that would catch fire in the way that it did… it’s quoted to me every week now.’

The original film was adapted from Lauren Weisberger’s book, which was loosely based on her time as an ᴀssistant to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
