New Britain’s Got Talent spin-off show with a twist is in the works and applications are already open

A Britain’s Got Talent spin-off show is in the works and applications for those interested are already open – but there’s a twist.

The new series of the original ITV talent show began last week with judges Simon Cowell, 63, Amanda Holden, 53, Alesha Dixon, 46, and Bruno Tonioli, 69, sitting behind the buzzers.

Now, ITV is hoping to find the talented pooches across the country for a ‘potential new entertainment show’, according to The Sun.

And no doubt the decision was made because Britain’s Got Talent already attracts a lot of dogs and their owners to the stage.

In fact, Border Collie cross Pudsey won the compeтιтion with his owner Ashleigh Butler back in 2012.

And in 2020, Miracle – who was rescued from Thailand’s illegal meat trade – brought Simon Cowell to tears after his magic trick performance.

An insider told the publication: ‘Pooches are always a huge hit on these compeтιтions, so it made sense to devote a show entirely to the unique abilities of our four-legged friends.

‘Forget Britain’s Got Talent, it’s more a case of Britain’s Dog Talent — and will be hoping this proves to be just as popular.’

An advert for the programme reads, ‘ITV are casting for a potential new entertainment show and are looking for talented dogs and their proud owners.’

It adds: ‘Is your furry friend a star? Do they have a show-stopping trick? Are they a bark above the rest?’

Those interested in participating with their pooch must be over 18 years old and complete an application form or email [email protected].

Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon is known to be a huge dog lover and currently has five pets.

He adopted German Shepherd Pebbles last year and was already a proud dog owner to Yorkshire terriers Squiddly and Diddly as well as his late mum’s dog Freddy and Daisy, who he adopted in Barbados.

In April 2022, Simon revealed he will leave a ‘substantial amount’ to various dogs shelters in his last will and testament, which is believed to be around £20million.

The star decided to draw up his last wishes after suffering a traumatic bike accident which left him with an injured arm.

The music mogul described the process as ‘one of the most depressing things I’ve ever done, and one of the hardest’.

He revealed that ‘everything he cares about’ will be covered in the will.
