Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cᴀssidy will appear in her first TV interview since the singer’s tragic death. 

The model, 25, will discuss the troubled star’s mental health struggles and delve into the dark side of fame on an episode of ITV’s Lorraine Kelly set to air next week.

Kate attended Liam’s funeral last year in Buckinghamshire and has mostly stayed away from the spotlight since his devastating pᴀssing in October last year. 

But now, she has been persuaded to open up about her beloved partner’s struggles as part of Lorraine’s new mental health campaign March4March, according to the Mirror. 

An insider told the publication how ‘brave’ Kate was to agree to the interview and said: ‘She talks to Lorraine about their life together as well as his mental health struggles.

‘It’s all part of Lorraine’s new March4March campaign. She was persuaded to take part in it.

She will also touch on how she has handled his death and grief.

Lorraine’s new campaign, March4March aims to get viewers to walk three million steps collectively – the same as walking the whole length of the UK. 

In a previous interview with The Sun, Kate revealed the couple had ‘our own separate lives’ as she spoke out for the first time following his death at the age of 31.

Liam’s American girlfriend Kate had originally accompanied him to Argentina, ostensibly to watch his touring former bandmate Niall Horan perform at Buenos Aires venue Movistar Arena. 

She left a day early in order to to look after their rescue dog, Nala at their home in Florida.

The social media influencer, who is from New Jersey, said she and Liam were not the sort of couple who would text all the time when apart and she now wishes she hadn’t left Argentina early. 

She told The Sun: ‘It was a tragic accident and no, I never did think (he might die young). But, you know, we did have our own separate lives — this wasn’t the first time we have travelled separately.

‘I just never thought this would have happened, that it would turn out the way it did. It still doesn’t feel fully real for me that he’s not here.’

Kate has openly expressed her grief on social media since Liam’s death and on Monday posted her latest tribute. 

Sharing a snap of her phone, Kate appeared to have made herself a new beaded phone charm with the number ‘444’ and an ‘L’ laced through the thread. 

Kate previously added the number 444 to her original tribute to Liam when she first broke her social media silence in October after his death. 

The figure has several hidden meanings behind it and is considered an angel number in numerology.
