Alex Jones buried her head in her hands after a guest on The One Show braced to walk off set after a name blunder on Monday night.
The 47-year-old was left red faced when she accidentally called an EastEnders star by their character’s name, rather than their own moniker.
Hosts Alex and Roman Kemp, 32, returned to the green sofa to chat to Robert Carlyle and James Bye.
Fans of the BBC soap will know that James’ alter-ego Martin Fowler tragically died during the show’s live episode in aid of EastEnders’ 40th anniversary.
During The One Show, they played out the heartbreaking scenes for viewers to watch one more time – and James confessed that he hasn’t watched it yet.

‘Martin. I called you Martin!’
The presenter put her head in her hands and Roman couldn’t contain his laughter over the unfortunate mishap.
James then got up from the sofa and said: ‘Right. That’s that then.’
Luckily the soap star found the funny side of the situation.
Alex continued: ‘I tell you what though, I mean the pressure isn’t it, not only are you having to die on screen, you’re dying live.’
James replied: ‘I know, I know, listen I was incredibly lucky because I got to do that with my best friend Lacey Turner and we’ve worked together so much that we sort of knew every little tick that each one of us had.
‘We’d already talked about if one of us went wrong.
James has starred on EastEnders between 2014 and 2025

James is arguably best known for his role on EastEnders.
He played the fruit stall holder Martin between 2014 and 2025.
The actor took over the role from James Alexandrou, 39, who played Martin between 1996 and 2007.
Taking over from James in 2014, James said: ‘It’s a huge opportunity for me to put my own stamp onto an iconic character and I can’t wait to get started.’
From 1985 and 1996, Martin was played by Jon Peyton Price.
James has had a successful career over the years.
He has appeared in a number of other programmes including The Bill and The Great Train Robbery.
James has also appeared in some compeтιтion shows such as The Weakest Link, Richard Osman’s House of Games, The Hit List and Strictly Come Dancing.
