Katherine Ryan has been left red-faced after her daughter Violet shared a slew of funny clips of her famous mum as part of a new TikTok trend.
The comedian, 41, revealed her mortification after the 14-year-old posted a hilarious compilation of videos of her dancing, twerking and struggling to climb out of her car to the song Ordinary Girl by Hannah Montana.
Under the words: ‘My emergency contact’, the TikTok saw Katherine shaking her bottom for the camera and practicing ballet in her living room, complete with a pirouette.
While other clips saw her trying to squeeze out of her car door after parking in narrow space and emulating Amy Poehler’s ‘cool mom’ character from Mean Girls, dressed in a pink velour tracksuit and dancing with a video camera.
Showing her appreciation for her mum despite poking fun at her, Violet captioned the video: ‘wouldn’t have it any other way’.
The trend sees people sharing clips of their emergency contact doing silly or idiotic things, poking fun at the fact that’s who they have chosen to rely on in an emergency, quickly becoming viral and being adopted by the likes of Will Ferrell’s son as well.

However, Katherine showed that she was not as amused, taking to comments herself to voice her embarrᴀssment by writing: ‘OH MY DEAR LORD VIOLET’.

It is not the first time that Violet has shown she’s inherited her mum’s funny side, with Katherine frequently sharing her eldest’s brutal jokes at her own expense.
Last year, she shared an Instagram video promoting her friend’s lingerie brand and modelling a pink lace bra and revealed her daughter had given her a savage piece of advice.
‘Violet said you have nothing to flex about so you can’t share this bra,’ she told her followers, while struggling not to laugh.
The year before, she revealed the hilarious comment Violet had made on her 40th birthday, writing: ‘‘You’re starting to die’. Thank you to my daughter, Violet for clarifying why I’m always tired’.

While the teen even once took to the stage at one of Katherine’s comedy shows when she was just 12-years-old back in 2022, in order to calm down a drunken fight between audience members.
It comes after Katherine displayed just how lucky Violet is to have her as her mother, after she revealed the extreme lengths she went to in order to get the teenager Taylor Swift tickets.
While thousands of eager fans braved the long lines at Wembley Stadium to get their hands on the prized tickets, Katherine hired her former midwife to queue outside from 4am, while Violet stayed in her H๏τel.
Speaking at a screening of her new TV show, At Home with Katherine Ryan, at the five-star Soho H๏τel this month, the stand-up star made no apologies for her lavish approach.
She quipped: ‘I wanna give everyone in my life a premium experience. I’m just finding a solution to an obvious problem. I mean, it’s like discovering penicillin! I’m like the Marie Curie of Taylor Swift concerts!’
Katherine became a mother at 25 and raised Violet as a single parent, before rekindling her romance with childhood sweetheart Bobby Kootstra and welcoming their two children Fred, 3, and Fenna, 2.
While she insists she never found single motherhood difficult, Katherine admitted that she now finds it hard to set boundaries with her eldest.

‘Violet and I had a wonderful life for a decade, we went on so many adventures, and I just want to keep that up. Her life has changed so much in the last five years.
‘I don’t like to say no to her, I kind of resist that. I don’t understand why I should say no to her – I still struggle with that.’
And the approach has led to one particularly unexpected purchase.
In episode two of At Home with Katherine Ryan, viewers will see Violet plead for a pet cat, only to be repeatedly refused.
But despite Katherine’s firm stance, Violet took matters into her own hands – ordering a cat online and bringing it home anyway.
Katherine admitted during the Q&A: ‘A fifteen-year-old doesn’t just go out and buy a cat, but that’s what happened. We still have the cat’.
In the same episode, the usually quick-witted star breaks down in tears as she reveals why she struggles to say no to her daughter.
In a particularly emotional moment, she confessed: ‘I wouldn’t want her to just leave. I left really young, and I know that people can just leave.’

The comedian, who has spent years showering Violet with attention and luxuries, also confessed that she sometimes wonders whether her daughter resents her for getting married and having more children.
‘I used to just give her whatever she wanted. And sometimes, if she doesn’t like that I got married and had other kids… I just want everyone to have what they want,’ she said, her voice breaking.
She also revealed that she struggles with ‘working mum guilt’, admitting she feels Violet got the best version of her as a mother.
‘I’m not with Fenna and Fred as much as I was with Violet, and I have guilt about that,’ she confessed.
‘In a way, Violet got a better mother than Fenna and Fred are getting. I’m around a lot less.’
But if there’s one area where the comedian has put her foot down, it’s social media.
The series sees Katherine and Bobby grapple with Violet’s obsession with social media, as the teen racks up over ten hours of screen time a day on platforms like TikTok.
‘Violet is a concern of mine always, I kept her off social media for a decade. All of her pᴀsswords are communal, Bobby knows her pᴀsswords and I know her pᴀsswords,’ the mother-of-three confessed.

‘And we do take it at night and we could spot-check it at any time and she knows that.’
It comes after Violet posted a Christmas present haul from her mother worth £3,000 on TikTok.
Her account has over 38,000 followers and 4.6million likes.
In the video, Violet excitedly unwrapped designer items, including three Ralph Lauren polo jumpers worth £165 each, a pink Gucci scarf priced at £335, and a Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk makeup set worth £46.
Also among the gifts was a Kodak Mini SH๏τ camera (£122), multiple LuluLemon items worth hundreds of pounds in total, and a Ninja Slushi maker (£300).
At one point, the teen held up a jumper that read ‘Favourite Daughter’ as she joked: ‘My mum says she loves all her favourite children equally – apart from the first one, who she loves the most, which is me!’
