A much-loved TV star is set to take the reins of a brand-new reboot of Hole in the Wall – and insiders say the new host is the perfect choice to bring the show’s chaotic energy to life.
Alison Hammond has reportedly signed on to front the new version of the hit BBC game show – which features two teams of celebrities trying to squeeze through odd shapes in a moving wall in a bid to win money for charity.
Producers are said to be ‘over the moon’ that the This Morning star, 50, has agreed to be involved.
A source told The Sun: ‘Hole In The Wall’ got great ratings when it first came out so the Beeb have decided to bring it back.
‘They are currently filming the pilot to see how it shapes up. They wanted to sign Alison and she jumped at the chance to do it.
‘She’s one of TV’s most in demand stars right now and the Beeb is over the moon that they’ve signed her.

‘Alison adores her job and is always on the lookout for shows where she can have a real laugh – that’s why she loves presenting Bake Off and This Morning. They are light-hearted and fun.’
The programme, which is based on a Japanese format, was originally presented by Dale Winton before Anton Du Beke took over as host for the second series. The show was axed in 2009.
MailOnline have approached the BBC and Alison’s representatives for comment.
The Great British Bake Off host previously told how she is always happy to meet fans when she’s out and about because she views it as her job.
She told The Times magazine: ‘I bring joy. But I take it seriously, because life is hard and you’ve just seen how people react to me.
‘I make them forget their life. I bring joy, that’s my role. And if that can happen for somebody through my laugh, which even I find annoying, that’s fine by me.’
And even when her mum died of cancer four years ago, Alison left the hospital and agreed straight away to take a picture with a woman who had approached her.
She recalled: ‘On the way out, a woman asked me for a pH๏τo.

‘And I said, ‘Of course!’ That’s my job. People like that put me where I am today and I was looking at the phone screen, at our selfie, thinking, my mum just died.
‘But it made that woman happy, so of course I took it. I’m not going to deny someone a pH๏τo just because I’m not in the mood.
‘People off TV are not always this friendly, but it’s who I am. I’m hands on. I hug. We’re all on the same level.’
The news comes after Alison found herself hosting a discussion about age-gap relationships on Friday’s episode of This Morning, despite being in a relationship with someone 23 years her junior.
As the ITV show saw hosts Dermot O’Leary, 51, and Alison, sit down with psychologist Linda Papadopoulos, Dermot opened up the conversation with, ‘As Bridget Jones finds love on-screen with a younger man, today we’re sharing your age-gap love stories.’
Alison continued: ‘Now we’ve had lots of calls and psychologist Dr Linda Papadopoulos is here to help you out. When it comes to mᴀssive age relationships, where do you stand on this?’
Dr Linda replied: ‘I’ll tell you where the research stands. The sweet spot if you want to make a relationship last is one to three years. About 8% of us are in relationships ten years or older.’
Alison has been in a relationship with 27-year-old Russian mᴀsseuse David Putman since December 2023 and the pair like to keep their relationship out of the spotlight
She then shared a racy reveal about libido and Sєxual fulfilment among older women.
‘Actually, contrary to public opinion women who are older tend to be happier, especially Sєxually,’ she added.

Alison has been dating 27-year-old Russian mᴀsseuse David Putman since December 2023.
Whilst the pair like to keep their relationship out of the spotlight as much as they can, some viewers took to social media to share their thoughts on the discussion, with one quipping: ‘I love how they’re doing a segment on ‘age gap relationships’ and Alison Hammond is just sitting there like an audience member!
‘There was clearly a ‘don’t mention my boyfriend is 23 years younger than me’ clause put into that part of the show #ThisMorning.’.
Earlier this month This Morning shared an adorable snap of Alison kissing her rarely-seen boyfriend during a romantic trip to New York.
In a bid to celebrate Valentines Day, Alison told her co-star that she was getting emotional.
Dermot told her: ‘You don’t need to be emotional Al. You are flying on the crest of the wave, you just got back from New York with your Valentine. Let’s take a look…’
They then showed a black and white snap of Alison and David enjoying a smooch while living their best lives in the American city.
Alison added a ‘Happy Valentines’ sticker over the top of the picture.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX
