Cynthia Erivo commanded attention as she hit the red carpet at the NAACP Image Awards in Pasadena, California on Saturday.

The 38-year-old Wicked actress is nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for her co-lead role in the box office hit that she starred in alongside Ariana Grande. 

She opted for a modern ensemble, comprised of a black pinstripe suit that cinched waist and black tie.

The star leveled up her look with her latest ultra-long green manicure, referencing her Elphaba character.

Her nails featured an intricate mix of sparkling gemstones, metallic accents and silver crescents. 

She accessorized with stylish gold hoop earrings, her signature nose ring and a collection of rings — including an emerald rectangle cut gem, another nod to the 2024 film.

Erivo has previously been nominated for the NAACP awards four separate times.

The English performer earned her first two nods back in 2020 for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture and Outstanding Breakthrough Performance in a Motion Picture for her role in Harriet.

In 2022 she earned her third nod for Outstanding New Artist for her album, Ch. 1 Vs. 1. 

That same year she was also up for Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Limited Series or Dramatic Special for her role in Genuis.

If she wins tonight, the award would mark her first victory at the NAACP. 

And as of February 20, Wicked has raked in over $727M worldwide. 

The NAACP Image Awards are an annual ceremony honoring outstanding achievements and performances of Black people in film, television, music, and literature. 

The ceremony covers a wide range of categories, including motion picture, television, music, literature and podcast. 

There are also special awards given to individuals who have made significant contributions to civil rights and social justice.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris was honored with the prestigious Chairman’s Award at the event.

The Wayans family was inducted into the NAACP Awards Hall of Fame. Damon Wayans and his sons Marlon Wayans and Damon Jr. were present to accept the honor. 

Zoe Saldana was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Lioness, but lost out to Queen Latifah (The Equalizer). 

Quinta Brunson won for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on Abbott Elementary. 

Other winners of the night included Martin Lawrence, who nabbed the Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture award for his role in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Denzel Washington, who received the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture award for his role in Gladiator II, and Ebony Obsidian, who won Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role in The Six Triple Eight.

This year’s ceremony was hosted by actor and comedian Deon Cole, and aired on BET and CBS. The theme for this year’s show is, ‘Our Stories, Our Culture, Our Excellence.’
