Britain’s Got Talent dance troupe Obsequious’ past success revealed including huge follower count

Obsequious took Britain’s Got Talent by storm with their audition on the programme during Saturday’s launch episode.

The Filipino dance group managed to secure four ‘yeses’ from judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli for their impressive routine.

During their two-minute audition, the 14-people-strong troupe showed off their jaw-dropping moves as a medley of Guns N’ Roses and Bon Jovi’s biggest hits played.

Dressed in black skull outfits, they had the audience on their feet with their rock and roll routine and were left overjoyed when they secured a place in the next round.

Following their memorable audition, it has been revealed that it is not the group’s first try at a compeтιтion as they have previously taken part in street dancing tournaments.

The troupe, led by Kennedy Cortez since its 2019 founding, also boasts an impressive 66,000 followers on Facebook as they have already secured a huge fanbase.

Back in 2023, Obsequious was one of the ‘standouts’ of the World Supremacy Battlegrounds – a large-scale international street dance compeтιтion.

The following year, they went on to win the WSB Asia PH, Battlegrounds PH Luzon, WSB Asia International, and Champions Tour Cell championships.

One of their dancers was also crowned champion of the UDO National Philippines Qualifier, while they have also had their own show at Road To Body Rock Asia.

In their latest success, Obsequious had BGT viewers glued to their screens as they were left ‘mesmerised’ by the group’s sychronised dancing and gymnastic moves.

Fans were quick to take to social media to praise the group for their performance as they are no doubt trying to secure a win like 2009 winners Diversity.

Comments included: ‘Dancing is made for groups proven by these great guys, for me they were best of the night, I was so mesmerised by their synchronicity and moves’;

‘They had some crazy skills and they have been practicing for a long time. Brilliant performance’;

‘Absolutely brilliant and so fast with their moves. I really enjoyed their audition’; ‘I enjoyed that as a ROCK ‘N’ ROLL /METAL fan, just amazing!!’

The 2025 series of BGT kicked off on Saturday night and viewers are in store for a major formatting shake-up this time around.

It will be the longest series ever with four months of episodes, which will air each Saturday night, replacing the traditional nightly episodes.

The live semi-finals – which usually air nightly over the course of one week – will now be shown weekly on Saturdays also.

A large chunk of the auditions have also been filmed in Blackpool rather than the London Palladium.
