With his new-found skills, Hezekiah soon goes head-to-head with Sugar Goodson (Stephen), a seasoned and dangerous boxer.

Their intense and popular rivalry will quickly go beyond the ring, with disastrous consequences for all.

A Thousand Blows is directed by Top Boy’s Ashley Walters, whom Stephen stars alongside – with Erin – in Netflix’s Adolescence, currently filming.

Rapper-turned-actor Ashley, 42, also serves as an executive producer on A Thousand Blows, as does Stephen.

‘The love and care that went into this thrilling production is evident on screen from the first moment,’ said creator Steven in a statement accompanying the first-look images.

‘What makes the story we tell all the more compelling is that it is based on the lives of real people who lived extraordinary lives in extraordinary times.’

A Thousand Blows S1 is coming to Disney+ in the UK and Ireland, Hulu in the U.S., and select other countries on Disney+ in 2025.

A second series has already been completed.

Steven Knight no doubt has his hands full as A Thousand Blows comes after it was confirmed Peaky Blinders will return.

Peaky Blinders’ original writing and directing team will be returning alongside Cillian Murphy for the Netflix film adaptation of the hit British series, the streaming service confirmed in July.

Cillian Murphy, 48, will be reprising his role as Thomas Shelby in the period crime drama, set in late 1910s to early 1930s Birmingham, with the show’s creator Steven and Tom Harper again writing and directing respectively.

Netflix confirmed the news on X with a pH๏τograph of the script, while the Oscar winning actor told ᴅᴇᴀᴅline: ‘It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me…’
