Actress Lynne Marie Stewart has pᴀssed away at the age of 78, her friend has revealed.
The American star was best known for her roles in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Pee-wee’s Playhouse.
Confirming her death on Saturday, Lynne’s friend and fellow actress Cᴀssandra Peterson, took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute to the late star.
She penned: ‘My heart is breaking upon hearing the news of my dear friend Lynne Stewart’s pᴀssing. One of the kindest, sweetest, funniest women who ever lived.
‘The iconic Miss Yvonne of Pee-wee’s Playhouse: She’ll always be “the most beautiful woman in Puppetland”’.
Fans flocked to send their condolences as they took to the comments section after hearing of the loss.

‘Nooooo! Completely heartbroken!!! I am so sorry for your loss. Too many leaving at once. Stay strong’;
‘Oh, no. I’m so sorry, Cᴀssandra. May her memory be a blessing.’
Lynne was best known for her iconic role as Miss Yvonne, The Most Beautiful Woman in Puppetland, in the children’s show which ran from 1986 until 1991.
She began the role in the 1981 stage show The Pee-wee Herman Show, before taking it onto the CBS television show Pee-wee’s Playhouse.
Later she also joined the cast for the Los Angeles stage revival in 2010 and the Broadway production which opened in the November of that year at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

The star also had a recurring role as Charlie’s mom, Bonnie Kelly, on the long-running, critically acclaimed series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Lynne also guest-starred on the Disney shows Austin & Ally and Good Luck Charlie in 2011.
Her other TV credits included Raising Hope, Marvin Marvin, Comedy Bang! Bang!, as well as a small role in the 2011 film Bridesmaids.
Lynne appeared to be incredibly private about her personal life, but she was not known to be married.
