Sydney Sweeney’s wedding to fiancé Jonathan Davino has been postponed, three years after the couple got engaged. 

The Madame Web star, 27, and the restaurateur, 41, were reportedly set to get married this May, but their nuptials are now on hiatus, according to TMZ.

The reasons for the postponement are not entirely clear, though sources confirmed to the publication that the wedding was pushed back due to the couple’s busy schedule.

The pair — who got engaged in early 2022 and weathered the storm of romance rumors between her and Anyone but You co-star Glen Powell — were last seen together in January. 

Last year Sydney revealed she was too busy working to plan the wedding. ‘I am so busy working! I’m a workaholic and I love it, I love it,’ she told ET. 

The star currently has one project in production and two in pre-production, which means she might be busy shooting in the near future, hence the wedding delay.

The duo shared a Hollywood style kiss as he dipped her with one arm and she held onto his hand as their pals looked on.

In the image, she sported a black tank top and jeans while Davino wore a white ʙuттon-down, denim bottoms and sneakers.

‘The last few days of 2024 will forever be some of my favorite,’ the Emmy nominee captioned her latest slideshow, which featured snaps of her jetskiing, hanging out with friends, singing karaoke and attending a Roaring Twenties-themed party.

The Anyone But You actress and her fiancé Jonathan were first romantically linked in 2018. Four years later, the lovebirds got engaged.

They sparked engagement rumors when Sydney was spotted wearing an eye-catching diamond ring.

Soon after, People confirmed she had accepted his proposal.

Sydney and the businessman from Chicago mainly keep their relationship out of the public eye, and while talking to Cosmopolitan in 2022, she opened up about her need for privacy. 

‘Sometimes I feel guilty about it,’ she admitted.

‘I would love to share my normal life so that people can see that it’s not all glamour. But I can’t because, one, I like my privacy, and two, social media is another platform for business.’

She continued, ‘Sharing my life on it could go against the integrity of the business and brand I’m trying to create.’

The pair have also worked together in the entertainment industry. While Sydney starred in the romantic comedy Anyone But You (2023), she also co-produced the film with Jonathan through her production company Fifty-Fifty Films.

On having the chance to work closely with her partner, the Immaculate actress told the outlet, ‘I think it’s incredible being able to work with people who you wanna be in business with.’

‘It’s amazing having someone who cheers you on and someone who fully just supports what you do.’

In another update regarding their wedding, she explained to Glamour UK in December 2023 that she has a Pinterest board full of ideas for the big day.

She said: ‘What girl doesn’t create a Pinterest board for their wedding? I started making that when I was like 10. I don’t have a color scheme yet.’

‘I’m more of an experience planner, so I’m like, ‘What experience do I want to give people? Are we going on a tropical vacation? Are we doing a carnival?’ she continued.

More recently, she also reflected on being ‘in a steady relationship for a really long time’ which she noted ‘is not normal in this industry and not normal for’ her age.

‘Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with and what’s that like, but I think it’s important to have something for me. I’m very open [otherwise],’ she explained. ‘I talk about so much and sometimes it gets me in trouble, but I do try to keep something for me.’

Last year, Sydney’s co-star Glen finally admitted he and the actress ‘leaned into’ their romance rumors in order to drum up hype for their rom com.

In the run-up to the movie’s release, Glen and Sydney were hounded by speculation that they had indulged in an on-set affair.

The conjecture carried a whiff of scandal because at that time, Sydney was already engaged to her longtime love Jonathan.

However, Glen confessed that he and Sydney purposely allowed the rumors to flourish in order to help their movie at the box office.

He pointed out that the gambit ‘worked wonderfully,’ as the movie was a smash hit, and he added to the New York Times: ‘Sydney is very smart.’

The Hollywood Adonis, whose movies include Top Gun: Maverick, explained: ‘The two things that you have to sell a rom-com are fun and chemistry.’ 

Sydney is next set to work on ‘Scandalous!’, a drama about Sammy Davis Jr. and actress Kim Novak’s romance, and ‘The Masque Of The Red Death’, based on the short story of the same name by Edgar Allen Poe. 

Sydney is also slated to return as her character Cᴀssie Howard on Season 3 of HBO’s Euphoria.
