Tyga heartbrokenly announced to the public on Friday that his mother Pasionaye Nicole Nguyen died last month aged 53.
The 35-year-old rapper did not specify a cause, but provided her dates of birth and death – September 11, 1971 to January 18, 2025.
His message was accompanied by a heartwarming Instagram album showing him with his mother through the years, including when he was a baby.
He also included a picture of him holding her hand as she lay in the hospital, where her wristband revealed she was admitted January 11, one week before she died.
‘I been trying to understand and process why God takes the most meaningful and most beautifulest people away from us,’ Tyga wrote.
‘But I know I’ll never get an answer that will fill the emptiness in my heart,’ added the musical artist, whose Christian name is Micheal Ray Stevenson.

‘Can’t imagine life without you by my side. You were the best and most supportive person in my life, you always made things better when I felt at my lowest and worst.’
Tyga continued: ‘I would trade anything just to be able to be with you again I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. and I can’t wait for the day until we’re together again.’

He added : ‘I’ll see you soon and save me a spot right next to you in paradise I Love you forever mom and I’ll do my best to celebrate you with every moment that I have left. Pasionaye Nicole Nguyen 9/11/71- 1/18/25.’
Tyga, whose stage name is an acronym for Thank You God Always, concluded his message: ‘You took one of your best angels back GOD. I hope you know that.’
The accompanying album included pH๏τos of Tyga with his mother as both a child and an adult, including a sweet snap in which he was dressed as the Grinch.
One pH๏τo showed Pasionaye joyfully carrying Tyga’s now 12-year-old son King Cairo, whom he welcomed with Blac Chyna.
King Cairo was a small child in the picture, which showed Pasionaye giving him a piggyback ride as Tyga beamed proudly at them from nearby.
Showcasing his mother’s devout Christianity, Tyga posted a screen-grab of a heartwarming text his mother sent him before going to church.

Tyga, who famously used to date Kylie Jenner, was born in Compton to a Jamaican father and to Pasionaye, who has Vietnamese ancestry.
Pasionaye brought him up as a single mother, and made sure he was insulated from any of the troubles that she faced while raising him.
‘When I was growing up, I didn’t know about the problems my mom had,’ he said on Hollywood Today Live in 2016. ‘She always made sure that I was good, I was happy.’
