The lead singer and guitar player was spotted, looking differently than he did in the yesteryears when he rose to fame as the frontman of a heavy metal band, on Wednesday.

The rock star, who previously flaunted his six-pack abs and long hair on the front of magazine covers, was seen enjoying a beach day during his romantic getaway to Cancun, Mexico with his girlfriend.

At one point, the musician and his girlfriend — who is 16 years his junior — took a dip in the warm Caribbean waters and were also seen embracing during their swim.

During their getaway, he put his heavily tatted body on display as he went shirtless and sported a pair of camouflage-patterned swim trunks.

The rock star in mention is Metallica frontman James Hetfield, 61.

He was joined by his 45-year-old girlfriend Adriana Gillett, a fashion designer and former journalist.

The Thicket actor showed off his tattoo sleeves as well as the ink across his chest and on his back. 

He also flashed the tattoo he got with his late friend Lemmy Kilmister’s ashes on his middle finger. 

The musician has been sporting his silver hair in a short style as of late paired with thick sideburns and a handlebar mustache. 

Hetfield was frolicking on the sandy beach with his girlfriend, whom he started dating shortly after he divorced his wife of 25 years. 

During their relaxing beach day, he enjoyed a walk on the beach with his girlfriend before they took a dip together.
