Chris O’Dowd fans will be eagerly tuning into Friday night’s episode of The Graham Norton Show after the his last promo tour saw him go viral.
The Irish actor, 45, has not appeared on a British chat show since 2018, when he was a guest on The Last Leg.
Before going on the live show he had ‘one too many’ and while viewers couldn’t get enough of his drunken anecdotes, Chris later confessed that he felt ’embarrᴀssed.’
During the chat, Chris rambled on about various topics, flitting from Kanye West to trolls to his dog urinating on a Banksy piece.
He instantly started trending on X/Twitter with one fan asking the next morning: ‘How did you end up that smashed on telly? Not judging, just curious. You were gas and sure it happens to the best of us.’
Chris replied: ‘I’m genuinely not sure. Didn’t feel like a [sic] drank a bunch, but I went to the studio from the gym and skipped dinner. Unwise, in retrospect.’

The Bridesmaid star then shared a link to a clip of non-alcoholic ‘cheese tea’ and joked: ‘I may have had a couple too many of these last night.’
Yet he followed up by adding: ‘I am a little embarrᴀssed to be honest. But to keep things in perspective, it’s a tipsy comedian on a late night chat show on Channel 4.
‘I wasn’t doing meth on BBC breakfast. But thanks for your concern, genuinely.’

Chris no doubt reined it in for his appearance on The Graham Norton Show, as while Graham gets drinks in for his guests, Chris might be wary.
During an appearance on the show in 2013, he was joined by Steve Carrell and Kristen Wiig on the famous red sofa.
The trio seemed in good spirits during the interview but were left frustrated by a large fly that kept buzzing around.
In a hilarious moment, Chris took a swig of water only to realise the fly had landed in his glᴀss, with the actor having to pull it out of his mouth.
The following day Chris admitted he felt ’embarrᴀssed’ by his behaviour but fans were delighted by the hilarious anecdotes

Chris also had a bad drinking experience when he appeared on The Graham Norton Show in 2013, leaving Steve Carrell and Kristen Wiig in shock when he accidentally swallowed a fly
As Chris exclaimed: ‘Oh my God!’ Graham asked: ‘Did you just drink the fly? Is he alive in your hand?’
Kristen and Steve were seen squirming and laughing as Chris then admitted: ‘I gotta tell you, I chewed it. I took a drink and I realized that I didn’t have any ice in there.’
It seems his appearance this time round wasn’t as stressful.
However, he did leave fellow guests Ewan McGregor, Kate Hudson and Naomie Harris cringing as he recalled an embarrᴀssing moment with Beyoncé.
He confessed: ‘We had been in the same animation film so when we met at the screening she said to me, “You have the best voice.’ I replied, “You have a great voice too Beyoncé!” We have not stayed in touch!’
